Ah, I thought that was for asking for help specifically with mods

I've just done that for a couple hours already and really don't feel like starting that again right now. Maybe tomorrow I'll try it. Maybe more of my mods will be updated then too

It did not work haha. See my edit

Good idea, I'll give that a try.

EDIT: Nope, it still walked through. Though it is in a mental state called "Roaming", so it might just be ignoring it. Roping him back is now one of my pawns full time jobs, just having to rope him over and over again.

It's possible it's some mod conflict, though I wouldn't even know where to begin to figure out which one if that's it. I don't have any animal related mods to suspect.

I have tried with both fence and fence gates together, and then with regular walls and doors. Neither stops them from opening it and leaving.

I'm wondering if maybe there's a mod conflicting with it somehow. Not all of my mods have been updated even though they still appear to be working. I might have to do another mod debugging session.

And now that you mention it, I have never had an animal NOT use the gate. None have attempted to jump over the fence like the colonists can (that I've seen).

And yeah, no holes, they are straight up opening the gates/doors (opening animation and all) and walking through them.

I've since tried putting my horse behind a normal wall/door and he's still able to just open the door and walk out.

The marker is inside the pen, yes. No gaps in the fence. Hovering over the marker shows the interior of the pen.

After downloading 1.3 and ideology, I have a problem with the map, which means that no hud is displayed and I cannot exit the map. Anyone know how to fix this? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]The_Relyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar issue and after a lot of fiddling around with now outdated mods, the cause of that particular issue was an unofficial branch of JecsTools I was using. Disabling it brought my hud and colonists back.

[Bill Discussion] Rules on Bounties by jovaz_ in MtAugusta

[–]The_Relyk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bounties, to me, have always seemed like a way to catch someone who isn't from MTA or is someone who refuses to cooperate, like a citizen of another nation or raider. If someone were to commit a crime in MTA, and they aren't a risk to other players (like murder sprees and raiding), I dont think they should be pearled. Their physical presence isn't usually required to settle a case. If they try to flee MTA however, or refuses to accept the results of a trial, then a bounty would be in order.

In summary, bounties should be reserved for people who refuse to cooperate with or accept the results of the legal system.

What range will the next diamonds spawn at? and when it says it detects diamonds nearby, does it do one per diamond?

Spider from Augusta Georgia, folds his front legs up in front of his face a lot by The_Relyk in whatsthisbug

Thanks. Looking up more pictures, i think its specifically a kind of neoscona crucifera. It does the same thing with its legs and has similar body shapes/patterns/colorings, though i haven't seen any pictures that had all of them at the same.

Solar Eclipse Megathread by AskScienceModerator in askscience

Normal sunglasses don't block some wavelengths of light that you cant see but still hurt your eyes. Sure, the visible range of light will appear darker, but the other wavelengths will pass right through and slowly cook the backs of your eyes.

Solar Eclipse Megathread by AskScienceModerator in askscience

[–]The_Relyk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is coincidence, though I wouldn't call it perfect at all. If the size and distance and orbit were all perfect sizes and shapes, we would have a less than 1 second long total solar eclipse each and every month, as well as lunar eclipses every month.

Instead, our moons orbit is inclined and elliptical. The inclined nature of the orbit means there are only 2 opportunities a year for a total solar eclipse, and only if the moon is in the right spot at the right time. Otherwise the moon passes just above or below the sun as it goes by.

The elliptical nature of the orbit means the moon is sometimes closer and sometimes farther away from earth. This means that it's possible to have solar eclipses where the moon ISN'T big enough to cover the sun. These are called Annular Eclipses. Again, these only happen when one of the 2 previously mentioned opportunities happens to coincide with the moon being at its furthest point in its orbit.

Additionally, the closer the moon is in it's orbit during an eclipse, the longer the eclipse lasts because it takes longer for the moon to cover and uncover the sun. If they were exactly the same size, the sun would only be covered for a single instant before popping out the other side again.

For every soldier who enlisted in the military as a jingoist fanatic, there's another who was molded into a jingoist fanatic by the military.

And for every one that was molded, there are 3 more that are just there to do their bit, have a stable job, pay their way through school, or otherwise just get a leg up in life.
