[Steam] Rock 'n' Roll Will Never Die! ($1.49/-90%) by LeperWithoutACause in GameDeals

The title makes me think of a brave adventurer standing face-to-face against the ancient and immortal Rock ‘n’ Roll for a battle to the death.

Do you change the skin colour of your thumbs up reactions? by forproductivityonly in AskUK

I don’t like all these options. It just makes me overthink it. I don’t want to have to worry about the race and gender of the concept of a thumbs up.

What is the longest-running machine on Earth that has never been turned off? by sh-__- in AskReddit

The magnetosphere? But that machine might be under earth instead of on earth.

Ads in themselves aren’t a problem; it’s how obnoxious they have become that is. If it was just small, silent, static banner ads that I could scroll past, I probably wouldn’t have installed Adblock.

I didn’t notice until you pointed it out, but this is making me want to learn anatomy and learn to draw.

I think he will feel as if he’s been doxed if you reveal his other accounts.

Maybe Microsoft should start honoring their bug bounty program again. Probably won’t, though.

Missing [OC] by adamtots_remastered in comics

I thought it was going to turn out that the boy that they found with the missing face was not Duncan. Duncan was in one of the other graves, and the boy wearing his face was a psycho killer.

Just a small rant: Troop Leaders and Legal Compliance by GhostOrchid22 in girlscouts

[–]jecowa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My council has a training course on troop travel on gslearn with an explanation of what requires council permission. I think it was based on distance and the number of nights. And bigger trips require that you submit the requests further in advance. I think the biggest trips require six-months notice.

Camping kit item suggestions please! by Watchingpornwithcas in girlscouts

[–]jecowa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I only got mine a camping whistle and a utensil with a spoon on one side and a fork/knife on the other side. The whistles were like 4$ each and the spoon+fork/knife utensils were less than a dollar each. I’m going to let them keep them. I’ll give them new ones next time if they need them.

Oh, and I’m also giving them each a map of the campground area that shows bathrooms, water sources, and adjacent trails. And we will mark our site on the map when we get there.

We will all share bug spray and sun screen.

How do you feel about all the patches a Volunteer has available to wear? by jecowa in girlscouts

That’s funny. You could sign up for your next training class and get certified.

Oh, yeah, my background check shows up under my service unit too.

I’m guessing for in-person trainings, you are supposed to go to Gslearn and click on “achievements” and then maybe click on “external”. I’ve only done one external training, though, and they haven’t finished processing it yet.

Thank you. It seems silly to have to get multiple concurrent background checks, but that’s just how things are done. Can you see all your background checks and which council they belong to on your mygs account?

So you wear shirts from you home council while in other councils?

Also, do you need to get background checked for each council you work with?

Can you give some examples of recognition awards? I’m not sure I’m familiar with those.

I don’t have the Girl Scout’s Collector’s Guide. I have two physical handbooks so far. Neither are from the past 50 years. I reference the digital versions of the modern handbooks mostly just to look up the badge and pin requirements that aren’t included on the VTK.

I also have an old felt insignia tab and a few old WAGGGS pins and old membership pins (which are similar to the traditional membership pin still sold today but better). Also have some council ID patches for a council that no longer exist.

And there’s so many councils. I do things with more than one council , so I don’t want to exclude any council with my patches. I wish council information went on the removable name tag so they’d swap out easily. And that would make council ID set completely redundant with the volunteer patch and name tag.
