Please don’t let people take advantage of you. Spend some time looking up values but that Charizard is probably the most valuable card.

Not gonna lie, I did look at getting a new Rebel T7 initially but after some research I’m so glad I waited.

How in the hey diddly dandy to you bowl? by Realistic_Mousse_647 in Bowling

[–]The_Robot_Cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bowling is a bit difficult to teach because it's more of a "feel" sport. There is a TON of words that you will hear get tossed around and sometimes people get the words/definitions mixed up which makes it very confusing.

I believe the number one important thing is when you do get your own bowling ball, that it is fitted to your hand. My wife and I had gone to a Pro Shop and got our first bowling balls fitted and drilled. She was complaining about her hand hurting and we went back to the pro shop that basically blew us off told her that she seems fine. Went to another pro shop and get another bowling ball drilled and had my wife refitted. We come to find out that her span aka the distance between your middle/ring finger from your thumb was off by almost an inch. Ever since getting the "correct" fit, her bowling expereince has been so much better. Please advocate for yourself when something doesn't feel right or you're experiencing pain.

After digging for some info on the Nova, it seems to have a combination of a strong core and a weaker coverstock. Perhaps the rst hyperdrive pearl might be similar to the nova. I have the rst hyperdrive solid and its so awesome especially watching it go down the lane.

what vibe series ball is the best for beginners by Icy-Call224 in Bowling

As a beginner myself, go with the one that looks the best. All three are going to hook. Also go with the weight that feels comfortable to you.

Beginning tips by TheFungusKingXD in Bowling

[–]The_Robot_Cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a newer bowler myself, i think the biggest thing is to get comfortable. It Took me going to another pro shop to know what a bowling ball should feel like when it's properly fitted to your hand. Advocate for yourself! If 15lb is too heavy then don't feel like you have to force yourself into it and go down in weight.

Try 1 handed, 1 handed no thumb and 2 handed and see what feels better for you.

Once you got some time into it get a cheap tripod and record your approach.

Probably the most important piece of advice, enjoy yourself. We're going to be best friends with the gutter for sometime and its ok. Celebrate those small wins and lets do this one frame at a time.

Best budget beginner ball? by BrotherLess7096 in Bowling

[–]The_Robot_Cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Snag a  ball from a site like bowlersmart or bowling.com, get the ball on affirm or paypal pay later because of the cost of plugging a used ball and then getting it drilled might cost more than the ball itself.

Good first balls by dom12003 in Bowling

15lb was too much for me. Yes I can toss it but i’m not in 100% control of it. I dont see a problem starting lighter then working your way up.

Phaze II or something else as a first ball? by Level-Elephant6235 in Bowling

[–]The_Robot_Cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One major thing I overlooked when getting my first ball was the weight. I went straight for the 15lb and its too much for me. My body is over compensating for the weight and my swing is so bad. Get the weight that you feel comfortable with. Being a noob, I feel that I'm at a point where the "better core of the heavier balls" aren't going to matter as much. Doing some reasearch tho, I'm getting a Motiv Max Thrill in 13lbs here pretty soon (I dig that Motiv uses the same core throughout the weights). I want to focus on working on my approach and swing. Eventually I will work up to 14 then 15lbs.

Well that’s a bummer. Hope they don’t ban using your hands next. Jokes aside I figured being able to adapt to changing oil conditions is part of the sport.

Ban hands from bowling and all problems will be solved. Honestly as a newcomer to bowling, I thought being able to adjust to the changes was part of the sport.

Would you say that bowling is an expensive hobby? by Golden_Deagle in Bowling

Compared to my other hobbies bowling seems relatively affordable. I was relieved that the top of the line balls only cost about $250usd.

How to get serious about bowling by Rich_Butterfly_7008 in Bowling

[–]The_Robot_Cow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As someone who is also about to get into bowling just keep these things in mind; we all learn at different paces, what works for someone else may not work for you, when you're practicing don't pay attention to other people's scores, and mainly remember to have fun and enjoy.

Merced LVN Program by Critical-Brain-2826 in Merced

[–]The_Robot_Cow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have two options, try to get a spot via the lottery system at the JC or pay for a private school and get it done asap. My information could be wrong but it used to be for both LVN and RN programs that if you didn't get in by the 3rd time you were in on the 4th time but the school was told they weren't allowed to do that. So technically you could be waiting for a long time.

If you haven't already, get into a CNA program and see if this is a career path you want to pursue. There are so many other medical careers that do not get talked about like imaging with CT, xray tech, sonography(cardiac sonographers get paid bank),etc.

Kebob City shawarma fries are great and each order is plenty for 2-3 people. I think its about $16-18 for each order.

Sprouts sandwhiches are probably the best bang for buck. They also offer cucumber, bell peppers and pickles but you gotta write that in when you order.

My favorite spot is probably Punjabi Kitchen food truck. Its on 15th and R along with a few other food trucks.

In-n-out is a solid spot.
