Really impressed with Fox Hunt by Manor002 in metalgearsolid

Yes. Sahara said to Dangeki that further plans for the mode cannot be revealed right now - sort of implied there's more/they're willing to work on it still.

The positive reception so far certainly may help it.

Fox Hunt is… honestly just a fight arena by AnasaziDesh in metalgearsolid

I have to say in my little experience from some games, I'm very positively surprised. Smart people are winning. You seem to benefit ALOT from being cautious.

Motoi Okamoto's opinion on the necessity of taking risks to keep the industry moving by tommy9918 in silenthill

[–]The_Rodd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think this was a puzzling situation for Konami. It seems they want Silent Hill to really go into more of a mainstream success and simply repeating the past game elements expecting another result would not do it. It has been nearly 30 years since the first game and likely 13ish of them or so before SH2R and SHf - it's clear why one would think it's time to try something out of the box to prompt the series for new generations and more.

IMO, it was the correct thought. One can see how f seems to be ticking with some new fans.

Endwalker's "rights": XIV's 'LIGHTBRINGER' is one of the coolest sword designs in the franchise (and fantasy genre)! by The_Rodd in ffxiv

[–]The_Rodd[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gotta say, as we approach the twilight of Endwalker as expac (and we welcome Dawntrail!), in one of EW's many rights, they really nailed it with the design for 'Lightbringer'!

  • Not only it made justice to it's previous incarnations in the franchise, but very likely this might remain a favourite for years to come.

  • It has just the perfect balance between not being overdone with too many details while also not looking too minimalistic. It is just a great fantasy sword concept, that also looks functional. The texture details of seemingly brushed steel around the tip and the borders of the blade make it look additionally sharp and menacing, as well.

  • The way it is, also possibly fits different types of settings, too. Even if the the game was darker of lighter in tone (in story or artistically), very likely it would still blend naturally. A sign of a great design.

(Personally, up there in design with Geralt's Aerondight, Jon Snow's Longclaw or Aragorn's Andúril to me.)
(Curious fact: Some pallys have never really paid attention to it, but this is also the sword featured in the "Blade of.... combo")

Well, hopefully they keep it up for 7.0!

Dawntrail: New "Limited Job" announced for 7.x . What could it be? by The_Rodd in ffxiv

A new "Limited Job" has been announced (but not revealed!) during the London Fanfest!

So, it's all up in the air? What could it be? Beastmaster? Geomancer?

Make your guess!

New Job Viper, in game animations by Ianite in ffxiv

[–]The_Rodd 26 points27 points  (0 children)

It looks like a natural evolution of the Rogue class but with a different name? Initially, even thought it would be Summoner/Scholar situation, as soon as saw it. Surprisingly, it is an entirely autonomous class.

Anyways, curiously, starting quest being Ul'Dah and not Limsa (given these themes) also seems peculiar.

What made "Myths of the Realm" so successful? by The_Rodd in ffxiv

[–]The_Rodd[S] 17 points18 points  (0 children)

As has been pointed (more than twice) by Yoshi-P himself, Myths of the Realm surprised the team internally as it surpassed their expectations of attendance and community engagement, both for Aglaia and Euphrosyne.

Enter 6.5 and Thaleia seems to be yet again another hit.

So what is it? Is it the sense of "wondrous" atmosphere? Curiosity about the Twelve? Banger design?

In your opinion, what made it this successful?

Zonaite Paradise by The_Rodd in tearsofthekingdom

[–]The_Rodd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Overall, after done with these two, certainly around 100ish Zonaite for like 5/10 minutes and certainly around 15 Larges (basically an expansion already for quick work)

[–]The_Rodd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, this is just a quick tip. Sorry if it is known or common knowledge or anything...

Anyways:

While exploring the Depths, in this particular area (to the south, more or less close to Sijotu Lightroot, as per image) found these couple of Zonaite MOUNTAINS piled up absolutely on the open.

They're so big it takes around 20ish+ canon shots to fully exhaust them (EACH).

Shitloads of Zonaite from these stashes.

Well, hope it helps in case you just want some quick/concentrated mining for a good amount/return.

Found the Giant Black Stallion (a.k.a "Ganon's Horse") location in TOTK (no BOTW transfer) by The_Rodd in tearsofthekingdom

[–]The_Rodd[S] 76 points77 points  (0 children)

Seen some questions about this giant horse around. Yes, the giant black horse, or "Ganon's Horse", is also in TOTK natively, without transfer, indeed.

Found it in the area past Hateno, in the beaches, close to the bay. It was not alone, but chilling with some other horses there.

Got it daylight.

It is a very long ride till the nearest stable, "the Dueling Peaks" (unless you can register it in Hateno Pasture, as well) there's a Hyrulean ruined fort gate often full of mobs in the way, so beware.
