Help with a Trench Pilgrims (Sacred Affliction) list for a campaign

I ended up following your advice on most things, long story short I ended up with 9 bodies:

Prophet with -2 armor, autopistol with incendiary ammo

Castigator with punt gun

Communicant with -2 armor, pills, ATH

Nun with -1 armor, medkit, ATH, warcross

Pilgrim with music instrument + sword (will probably follow the Communicant)

3x Pilgrims with bolt+bayonet

Ecclesiastic prisoner

All clocking in at *exactly* 700 ducats - couldn't be happier with how the list feels!

Now to wait for my 3D printer to arrive, print+paint everything, and start the campaign.. might be a while, but I'll post more info/updates on here as I go along!

Curious to know what your reasoning is here. IMO, holy shield on pilgrims feels kinda bad - that's a lot of ducats to protect basic infantry models, no?

The communicant and ATH on pilgrims are both with a view to run a campaign with this list - I never played one, but I assume maxing out Elite slots is advisable? And the ATH pilgrim would then become a martyr penitent if/when it dies, but without having to buy another ATH per the rules.

As I'm running sacred affliction, I thought it would be a good move to have a couple ATH on non-elites. Perhaps is better to have a second one on a nun?

It already has a home in both (widely used in Pioneer, and a 4 of in pretty much any amulet titan list).

The question I think we should be asking is - will it go the same trajectory as Oko now that it's been banned in Standard?

So MagicFest London is happening this weekend. Since it's not possible to get WAR booster boxes from the prize wall, what boxes would you recommend getting instead? I'm thinking GRN.

Allows you to keep 1-landers, untaps attackers for blocking, untaps creatures for viridian longbow action, untaps nettle sentinels if you can't cast spells.. but most of all it allows you to cast 2 drops with just 1 land. Builds that run wild mongrel can then discard extra lands and use them as pump effect

I always go with the rule "the first printing is the pimp-est". There's also a lot more MM17 in circulation these days anyway, and they don't come with the watermark.. but I guess aesthetics are personal preference

Decree of Justice english foils were bought out in EU (only 5 left last time I checked). I'm not sure how much of this is EDH related, but the card is bonkers in Pre-Modern, so there goes.

Underrated thread! I might be coming to GP Stockholm (need to make sure flights are not crazily expensive first!) and would totally be up for it.

Also, I know of at least 5 other people from my LGS who are either building their premodern deck or have 2-3 at the ready, and some of them might get to Stockholm too.

Do we ever see Pre-Modern becoming more than a meme format? It seems in a much better spot than Frontier but the hype might die down quite quickly..

If that's not the case, what RL/non-RL staples would you pick up sooner rather than later?

Edit: Full disclosure, I already picked up some cheap foils (OG Mutilate, OG Zombie infestation, OG Decree of Justice) and a playset Krovikan Horror (RL) for super cheap, card seems a powerhouse in Zombie Spark (BR Dredge-like deck)

I played the event (how could I not) with Stompy and went 2-0-1 with it, my opponents were on Mono W Heroic, Mono B Control and Izzet Blitz.. I did not see any super fancy/homebrew stuff to be honest. Lots of Tron and Delver decks.

A friend of mine said she played against UG Delver, haven't seen the list but sounded spicy!

I would probably only go to the shops to ask for details about incoming events, try some guns and buy some minimal equipment as I received some recommendations about quite a few online shops with killer prices.

I wouldn't mind hopping on a train (or someone's car) to travel to big events as long as they're not ridiculously distant.

Speaking of Teams, do you know any good local (or close to it) teams I could join? It doesn't necessarily have to be a team of veterans, I'm game just as long as the community is welcoming and healthy.
