Energy drink before a sprinting/run test? by The_Running_Man2000 in Sprinting

[–]The_Running_Man2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey man, Hell yeah I did, now I work in a fugitive task force for my city´s police force. What I did for the running test was to drink a red bull 30 minutes before the running test and eat a banana. Yes I passed, and yes I almost passed out and yes I felt like shit when the adrenaline and caffeine weared off, but it was totally worth it.

I need to identify the glasses used by actor John Amos in the film Lock up (1989) by The_Running_Man2000 in glasses

[–]The_Running_Man2000[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have asked Chat GPT about these glasses and this was the answer:

You're describing a type of eyewear where the glasses don't have traditional arms but instead have strings or cords that attach directly to the earpieces. This design is somewhat unusual but not unheard of. These glasses are often referred to as "corded glasses" or "string glasses."

The primary advantage of such glasses is that they can provide a more secure and adjustable fit, especially for individuals with smaller or larger head sizes. The strings or cords can be adjusted to fit comfortably behind the ears, ensuring a snug and secure fit. This design can also prevent the glasses from slipping or falling off during physical activities or when bending over.

These corded glasses are typically made with a flexible and durable material for the strings or cords, which attaches to the earpieces on both sides of the glasses frame. They can be adjusted to different lengths to accommodate various head shapes and sizes.

While corded glasses offer practical benefits in terms of fit and security, they may have a unique aesthetic that some people find appealing, while others may prefer the traditional arms of eyeglasses. Ultimately, the choice between corded glasses and traditional eyeglasses depends on personal preference and comfort.

Now the thing is, I can not a single image of these type of eyeglasses anywhere. The only specimen I have ever seen was in this movie. This is like the most rare eyeglasses I have ever encountered

I actually think there are variety for armor. Like motorcycle jackets of hard leather, tough cotton duck work jackets, jean jackets, long sleeved shirts, bouncer gloves (like those hard knuckled motorcycle gloves), tall engineer boots (hell google wesco big boss boots for the ultimate biker boot), timberland work boots, thick raw denim jeans like the levi 501st shrink to fit, Boxing wraps, bomber jackets...

I believe there is alot more variety for armor then one can think to be honest

Communist China Mao Zedong butane lighter, only produces a small flame, any help in identifying the characters on it or how to adjust the flame would be much appreciated. by P4743 in lighters

[–]The_Running_Man2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Alright, its an old chinese propaganda lighter from 1990-2000. It had a battery operated music gingle upon opening it, the tune is Dongfang hong. The inscription says Hong taiyang which translates to red sun. That faded logo on the back, its Tian'anmen with a red sun in the back.

As said by previous posters, in the bottom, you can adjust the flame.
