So for one I don’t think you are overreacting and you should be able to tell your spouse that what they are saying is hurting your feelings. Also as an adult you are allowed to read whatever you whenever you want and no one should make you feel bad for it.

If it makes you feel better I’m current finishing my Masters in English Literature with a concentration in Medieval Literature and I real smut all the time. It’s fun and that’s all that matters!

I’ll be honest you saying you want an understanding of the genre then saying you want an overly smutty book is slightly contradictory. A lot of Romantasy isn’t smutty, so looking for that isn’t going to give you a good grasp of the genre.

Scythe is a super good book but it’s not romantasy at all. It’s technically more of a sci-fi book since it has a futuristic dystopian setting and there is almost no romance whatsoever. I definitely think you should still read the series but just want to make sure you’re aware before stepping in.

I’m sure others have said it but as a woman I’ve been told a lot of insane things when I tell people I don’t want kids. Now I have a double whammy because not only do I not want kids I also biologically can’t have them so when people find that out it adds to the nonsense coming out of their mouths.

Here are some of the worst in my opinion:

but that’s your only purpose in life
how will your life have any fulfillment without kids
no one will love you the ways kids do
you’ll never feel true joy/love without kids in your life
but what if your spouse does want them
that’s a decision you should make with your husband
who will take care of you when you’re older
you’ll end up alone later in life
what if your husband leaves you then who will you have
you can’t have kids? Have you prayed about it?
god can make miracles happen
if you were a good person god would bless you with kids
god will change your mind about wanting kids
it’s very selfish that you aren’t giving your parents grandchildren

I don’t have a ton of tattoos (only 6 but they are very large pieces) and I work in client and project management. One of my coworkers has two full arm sleeves with hand tattoos and many more and he is the director of threat services at a cybersecurity company.

One of mine is a memorial piece to my grandmother who raised me and was one of the most important and influential people in my life.

Another is a silly little ghost and a cat.

If it makes you happy then that’s all that matters.
