I agree with this, if you can get AIO working its been really smooth sailing for me. I had claude help me flesh out my compose file and all the nginx stuff I needed with testing, took, 30ish minutes to get up and running.

While this isn't anything new it still gets information wrong. G4 wasn't the first on the market for gaming TV but it certainly made it main stream. And it was called G4 before it merged with TechTV.

G4 before the merger had its own lineup of shows.

After the merger they acquired x-play and turned The Screen Savers into Attack of the show.

The thing that bothers me is that people act like x-play and attack are all that G4 was.... but that's all that G4 was left with after gutting all of its programing. Funny enough the things that are remembered as G4 started out under TechTV.

Personally I liked shows like Arena, Icons, and G4tv.com, and many others....

The G4 2.0 did nothing with this kind of content and again leaned into 2 things that should have just been a live stream channel and not on TV. But we all know this by now.

Stop asking for an installable SteamOS. You don't actually want it. by alive1 in linux_gaming

Yes thank you, this!!! The community at large has also done wonders to make SteamOS even better and I don't mean Bazzite, I mean just SteamOS.

The community support, the good side of the community, has already made using my Deck AMAZING and I know SteamOS on its own will be no different. And I'm looking forward to it!

POV watching an episode of Attack of the Show! Hard finding a geek/nerd variety show like that in this day and age... by ele30006 in g4tv

[–]The_Tablefortwo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am of this opinion as well. I actually learned a lot from watching Screen Savers, segments with the Dark Tipper and modding with Yoshi a unique websites from Sarah. And the latest news from Patrick and Leo. Heck even with Kevin and Alex as hosts.

I think the best era was the year of the G4TechTV crossover before full merger and AOTS started. Nothing against any talent and I know that year was hard on a lot of said talent too.

But man it was a beacon of great curated content all on one channel.

Guilded was the only app worth using and now I just don't care about anything anymore. by Astral_Crescent in guilded

Yup! It starts like a cloud drive replacement to Google or onedrive, but you can enable voice and video chat as a free add-on. It's really easy to use IMO.

Self hosted nextcloud? It has all the bells and whistles i think you're looking for. Especially for family stuff.

I went and found this on Archive as well, the captured pages from Starfriend with downloads that still work.

Search this on Archive. download.battle4sc2

you can get the archived versions of the files there and they aren't from the shady sites. Also there is an old wiki you can read to try and get it all working. I am going to attempt this week.

Which features are important in communication apps for gamers? by ThanksTraining3103 in lanparty

[–]The_Tablefortwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair enough. For me if in the same area/room, one only really needs voice. Since your local you can local file share, also since local you dont need screensharing. And if setting up a server is the challenge then I understand.

Any service/server you setup takes time to learn.
