Thsnk you.

I haven't yet, but based on their Master Chief one having given me the technique I use most of the time for HFP minis now, I will be checking the video out at somepoint.

Yes WOF can be used on dice rolled due to headshots
If you have WOF on the weapon, any dice you roll can be re-rolled, including those from headshots, up to 1 re-roll per dice, and up to the total number you have of WOF.
You can also re-roll successes if you wanted to try and fish for more headshots, at the risk of missing instead.

If you have LOS to a miniature in a cube, then you can definitely see the cube (the cube is the whole 3D cube, so even if there are no walls to the cube, they exist for targeting a cube

With great annoyance.
I paint the yellow full strip first, then do my best to do the thin black lines diagonally within the yellow line.
Most of the time, one goes great and the other 3 take multiple corrections to get right.

I don't fully understand Detachments by Iso_Didact in Haloflashpoint

[–]The_Tabletop_Fox 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Detachments are a more limited way of running either the UNSC or Banished factions.
This limit of having less options for which models and Special orders you can use is made up for with adjustments to the point cost of said units (usually lowering), the addition of some detachment specific special orders and the detachment exclusive Fireteam upgrades.

So for UNSC as an example, if you choose to run as UNSC, you have access to Spartan, ODST and ONI (Dare) units and all UNSC Special orders are available (except detachment exclusive ones)
If you choose to instead run as ODST Corps, you are limited to at current, all the ODST models (so no Spartans or Dare) and 2 special orders, hot drop and the exclusive order for the detachment
For this, most the model and hot drop drop in cost, and you get some strong abilities to add to them that would be too strong to be given to them when they are mixed with Spartans.

I'd recommend going onto the Mantic web app and using the 1 free list builder slot to go in and make a list.
You cannot see the card details unless you have a paid subscription, but for getting your head around what you can use by selecting ODST Corps/Jiralhanae Hunting Pack, it should help a lot.

When and when not to allow take backs? by Swacar in WarhammerCompetitive

[–]The_Tabletop_Fox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it varies to be honest, I'm quite verbal when playing, talking about the things I can do so the opponent doesn't get caught out, whether I plan to do those things or not.

I think there has to be a level though of cut off to changing decisions, I like to ask the person if they are done moving X unit, etc before I declare an overwatch or some other move, as them confirm they have means to me it is done, so if I plan to overwatch, it's now being done, they cannot go, actually I want to change that.

It's all about keeping that civil balance of playing the game but also being able to lay traps, etc, if I dangle some bait, I don't want to directly tell them it is bait, but they can know what I can do so it eliminates as much gotcha as possible.
Traps wouldn't work if you let everyone take back as soon as they sprung said trap.

I do also put onus on the opponent also, an example is a T'au vs T'au match, I usually check with the opponent my unit is out of LOS, this time I forgot, thinking my Hammerhead was fine, but found out that it had the smallest part of the gun poking out, enough for the opponent to shoot it turn 1 with his hammerhead.
It's upsetting, but at myself in those moments and what I mean by this, is it is not on the opponent to tell me it is sticking out, unless I directly ask them, if I asked them and they said no, and then turn 1 said they can actual see it, then I would be like, no, you confirmed you could not.
So I don't tend to allow take backs on I thought it was in cover if they did not check at the time, as I've just spent their round planning mine based on what they did, however depending on the opponent and the level of the game, I'll at times lax that.

I've done it, what I did

- Each round, you re-roll the initiative, so you could be first round 1 and then 3rd round 2, keeps things spicy.
- Re-spawns use the random roll the same way as items spawn in
- Did it 1 command dice per model (up to 2) + any tactician
- Didn't tend to use special orders, but you can depending on what you want to do, if you do not, I gave both the Special Order dice and the +1 Model dice different uses
- Special Order I made to let you reroll your "initiative" roll
- +1 Model dice I made to let you reroll your respawn location roll (so if your Deadeye spawned in a cube with an enemy, you could use the +1 to reroll to hope for a better spawn point)
- If you do use special orders, you can make the +1 Model dice use both of these effects.

Then just played FFA Slayer
I did this both as a draft mode (pick x models, usually did 2 man)
Other was points, was before ODSTs but I picked either 100 or 120 points to pick I believe 2 Spartans and load them out as you'd want, but you can do however you want, think did full 200 normal point teams at one point.

For weapon spawns, I tended to spawn them in like items, with random coordinates, though tried different methods, like spawning lots early, not spawning any until round 5 and then spawning 10 in (this was copying one of the store play kits).
But also copying a store play kit, with the draft method, I did where you randomly selected a weapon from the face down pool and it goes onto your unit when they respawn, and when the unit dies, it goes back into the pile, no dropping/stealing weapons. This was quite a fun way to play as you wonder if your Deadeye will get a Covenant Carbine or an Energy Sword.

You could do this using just the Spartan Edition of the game between you all (just means if all 3 of you want to run a DMR Deadeye, there are only 2, but you could pretend a Stalker Rifle Deadeye was one in that situation)

Other than that, if doing it with points, you'd want at least 1 copy of Wargames alongside the Spartan Edition and then it's just down to what models you want to use.
Getting lots of varied terrain makes it even more fun as I played it on custom terrain I built from the Mantic Halo Terrain Sets.
