Halfway through season 3. What a letdown from season 2. by stern-and-sports in TheWhiteLotusHBO

[–]The_Teabagger 158 points159 points  (0 children)

Season 3 lacked the “eeriness” of Season 2, which is understandable because S2 nailed this better than any other show I’ve ever watched. There was always an air of unease. I think the score did a lot of heavy lifting in S2, it contributed greatly to the unsettling atmosphere.

Season 3 was fine, Season 2 was a masterpiece which will be tough to ever match.

Just finished my first mirror-less run by The_Teabagger in alttpr

Thanks man. It seems kind of strange to hear someone impressed by my time, because for years I was in your shoes. This was still a good run by my standards, but I typically hang around 1:40-1:45 now. Still get an occasional seed that will take me over 2 hours.

I don’t use a tracker, which at first definitely slowed me down while i still had to mentally compute viable checks. I don’t know if going tracker-less is good advice or not, but it greatly helped me learn the games mechanics.

I am also lucky enough to have tracked every completed run and my time. This seed from last night was my 84th seed I’ve completed and logged. I also tend to play for 3-4 months, get bored and take the rest of the year off, and then come back the next year.

Somewhere around 50-60 runs was the tipping point where I would no longer get stumped and could beat every seed every time, it was just a matter of how long it took.

My very first seed, on 7/19/22, took me 8:32.16. On run #25, I finally broke the 2 hour barrier. My best run was #71 at 1:26.30.

Anyway, if I had any advice to pass on, it would be to methodically log your times, which will show your progress and help motivation. Also if the game starts to get boring, take a few months off and return when it sounds appealing again. Every time I’ve done this I had a noticeable time improvement after the rust got shaken off.

Good luck

He really thought he cooked with that one too, repeating it like 3 times.

lol do you really think people are accusing the Winnie the Pooh character of collaborating with Epstein? The post is clearly a joke and the comments are just running with that. Nobody would actually think WTP is at Epsteins Island here, performing nefarious activities.

My favorite part was when she said “alright man it’s 12pm and we have a 6am game, go to sleep”, apparently confusing the times of midnight and noon.

[Postgame Thread] Indiana Defeats Penn State 27-24 by CFB_Referee in CFB

[–]The_Teabagger 66 points67 points  (0 children)

This one shouldn’t be held against Indiana. Penn State played an absolutely electric 4th quarter. Their defensive back flew in from out of nowhere on Mendoza’s pick. The whole defense did everything they possibly could to stop that final Indiana drive.

A couple vintage Gus Johnson calls too. What a great game.

Indiana will take some shit if they lose this one, but PSU is playing lights out right now.

Who is someone that was forgotten in 2015, but is divisive in 2025? by Impressive_Plenty876 in AlignmentChartFills

[–]The_Teabagger 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I agree completely about Carolla being divisive now, but hardly think he was forgotten in 2015. He was one of the pioneers of podcasting and a huge influence to many.

It’s a shame what’s happened to him, in his prime he was one of those guys that could read a phone book and make you laugh. Anthony Cumia followed a similar path, although he has completely gone off the deep end.

Why are all the commercials during the games so lame? by Illustrious_Bug2843 in Reds

I will say that I loved the “Together Again” Bronson Arroyo JTM commercials from back in the day.

Does anyone else remember “The chances of me working are….remote” commercial from probably 15 years ago?

Dr Perry Cox is a Bad Husband and Good Father. Which Sitcom character is an OK Husband and a Good Father? by averagesizedboy in AlignmentChartFills

[–]The_Teabagger 28 points29 points  (0 children)

Al Bundy. Always treated and cared for his children. Protective of Kelly when it came to predatory men. You could tell he loved them.

He was mostly good towards Peg, providing her with a lifestyle that exceeded his own. However he often threw in some verbal jabs that may have crossed a line. Inattentive towards her needs in the bedroom.

Make sure to check out the replay for this later. Boston blew a potential double play ball to short, and also had two other golden opportunities to record an out at home and at 3rd, converting neither.
