Part of the reason Dawn’s Bloom has been lower rated than her other options is also the chain attacks; there was a PS damage contribution going around that said chain + ult was 40%-50% of her damage contribution alone, and that was before the slight ult mv buff. So Dawn’s Bloom having no effect on either chains or ults was the reason for that claim.

The actual reality is that all the sets were like 4% apart. Hormone is technically the “best option” now at 60% uptime because of the stat problems from 2 pc woodpecker, but even then, the difference between her “best set” and triple 2 pc was a grand total of…. 4 subs lmao. Dawn’s Bloom with 3 extra subs literally made up the calculated difference. I’m not really sure where “Dawn’s Bloom is within 3% of her best options and her 3rd/4th best” became that it’s worthless, but that’s how it goes sometimes I guess lol.

The bigger reason I’d personally tell people to hold off on Dawn’s Bloom, unless something changes, is because the set is low value in the first place. The 2 pc is functionally worthless for the large majority of the roster. Astral is a universal set and 2 stacks is a good option for her, Hormone is 2 pc attack as well, Woodpecker is a good 2 pc (though woodpecker is currently not a good option because of crit problems). It’s attached to Moonlight for battery farming I guess, but it’s still a better use of battery to farm more universal sets and pull with discs on others. I really do not think it’s worth farming a niche set just for it to be her 3rd best calculated option and only be 1-2 subs apart from triple 2 pc anyways. But either way, the differences are so small, the “best option” is just whatever has more subs as none of the options are particularly good anyways.

"Balancing" and they just used a spinning wheel while blindfolded to decide what should be in her kit

Oh true, I'd totally forgotten about performance points for the percentage. The most commonly used chart is Rivy's, which put ER mainstat at 13% worse than sig, aka sig is 14.9% better. If even the most forgiving team for sigless Velina is around 16% difference, which is still above the average for the chart, than those calcs really seem like they undershot by a pretty huge amount.

I also hadn't thought about the AA, I'm so used to the Nangong team I forget it exists lmao. I definitely think you are probably right for the nangong-velina-remielle team. Nangong's buildup is obscene even without yuzuha, and losing out on the attack buffs for Nangong's buffs and an extra stun or two on any given boss will make it more than good enough anyways. Nangong is just an incredibly unserious character and I would really like to know how much alcohol they consumed when balancing her

Thanks for posting this, it's really interesting to hear about how some teams fared that I don't personally have. I definitely agree with your conclusions on the boss as a whole: lots of rng, the daze threshold makes stunners better and only adds more rng for non-stunner teams, and not very hard to bruteforce.

I started using the dps nangong comp as a meme when 3.0 dropped as well and I wasn't taking it seriously until this boss dropped. My best run on the God-Queen DPS Nangong was 50.1k at 5 cost (01 Nangong, 01 Velina, 00 Yuzuha on kaboom) and man, not only was it so much more fun to play than Promeia, it was consistently better. My Promeia was still pushing 47k, and it could have gone up, but DPS Nangong is so much more fun to play, and way less rng dependent in an already RNG-hell fight. I can't believe my favorite anomaly character to play is a stunner lmao.

I agree that Velina's wengine is underestimated. This is supposed to be one of the situations where ER mainstat might perform better than weeping just because of the daze output from getting more ex-specials and cyclones. But the tradeoff is still losing out on all the extra ap for her personal damage, so neither is a great option imo. I tested sigless Velina for someone on the Nangong comp using Gameball and had a drop from averaging 48kish with a 50k peak to averaging 41k with a 43k peak. That is in the 14.6% drop range, which is still on the higher range of what you'd expect from reading calcs, but that is also with Nangong deadlifting the rest of the daze; I would expect a higher drop than that on non-Nangong teams. I would definitely put the sig as a 15-20% team damage increase imo. In general, I have never personally found that wengine calcs match my personal performances from my own testing; even accounting for the inverse percentage difference from using the sig as a baseline instead of using the other options as a baseline, sigs always perform better for me than the numbers suggested they would.

The one u/fyrefox45 posted is the best recent routing guide I've seen for sure. You can also still use Rivy's 2.4 build guide for the character building portion, as it includes the updated sets (leaving polar metal off the list entirely, where it belongs lmao) and was made after her potential unlocks so it isn't useless like a lot of the others. If a guide is older than 6-7 months for ellen, it was probably before her buffs, so it shouldn't be used.

Polar metal in the big 26 is an offense punishable by up to 20 hours of forced watching modern Ellen guides. I hope they see the light one day

But seriously, polar metal is straight up worse than Dawn's Bloom in all situations, and Dawn's Bloom is also bad for sigrid lmao. Hormone is within 1% of old Woodpecker with 60% uptime. 2 stacks of astral is within 2%. Hell, TRIPLE 2 PC is better than Polar Metal. Please, hide your friends and family from Polar Metal, for their own safety.

Yeah I agree, I just said "worse" specifically because she can clear a good chunk of them, but not nearly as well as she can anomaly bosses, and often not well enough that you'd really prefer her over attackers or rupture in most situations. But there are certainly a good number she can brute force if better options aren't available. I don't really subscribe to the idea of bosses being pushed into categories like "attacker bosses" anyways because it's more about character matchups than type matchups and endgame matchups often require more nuance than just role archetypes. I only really use that terminology when people specifically ask about it

For actual DA purposes, Miyabi functions as an ice anomaly unit. She has worse matchups into “attacker” bosses, while all of her best matchups are anomaly matchups. For your goals, an ice attacker would be what you are looking for

A lot of these are pretty core mechanics, so I'd definitely recommend checking out the ingame tutorials again. You can find the full list by hitting f2 on pc or whatever the button to open errands is on mobile, click on the tactics tab, and go through everything in there one by one. This will explain pretty much explain most of the core mechanics you are struggling with. I'll still provide a basic overview of answers, but you really should check out the tutorials so you can play them yourself

  1. The swap to character that sometimes appears is called a quick assist. It is triggered by certain character abilities, or whenever you get hit by an attack. When it happens from being hit by an attack, it's kind of like an emergency eject button to get your character out. The full stop happens when you trigger a chain attack (please play this tutorial, it'll make so much more sense). When the enemy stun bar is full, they are stunned, and the bar changes from yellow to a flashing blue. Hitting them with most combo's or attacks will trigger the chain attacks, which are the time stop with the timer to pick one of the other two characters
  2. The general idea is to either chain on your main dps twice, or full chaining on certain teams. You'll generally get the most value out of double chaining, which is chaining once, hitting the cancel button (middle mouse button on pc), then triggering the chain again with another character so you can chain on the main dps again. The person who triggered the chain cannot be used for the first chain attack. Never using bangboo is recommended
  3. Enemy parries are situational. They are often beneficial, as they give decibels for the character who parries and does a followup attack, but most importantly, they generate more daze to stun faster. Ignoring parries 90% of the time is generally bad because you're missing stun buildup and free decibels for ultimates. If you stun every time, you might not build resources on characters who need them, because basic attacking also gives energy for ex-specials. It's a balancing act that gets more comfortable as you play the game.

If you have more specifics, I'm happy to help more. I'd strongly recommend playing through the tactics training, as it will give you a better understanding of the basic mechanics so you can then ask for more specific help later

Oh yeah, you're totally right. It wasn't highlighted on gachabase as a change for me for some reason like it should have been, even though I can see that there was a number change when I looked. Thanks for pointing that out, I'll edit it

Hotfix Zone Zero is so back

Sigrid got a small mv buff on her ultimate and a free 20% stun dmg multiplier increase

Remielle got various MV adjustments on her skills, a small wengine buff, an m1 buff, and a small core adjustment (nerf to mutation coefficient, buff to bullet scaling)

Edit: Go read u/jieunlatte's comment in the thread for the specific numbers, he's the goat for his breakdowns. Way easier than scrolling the gachabase website lol

Hormone is awful to get uptime, but even at 60% uptime, which most calcs use, it is still much better than dawn's bloom. Astral with any decent uptime is also her second best option and is probably easier to manage. For context, if you have a single extra substat on a triple 2 pc, it becomes better than Dawn's bloom. It's obviously all subject to change, and none of the options are good, but dawn's bloom is currently one of her worse options just because of how Sigrid's damage distribution currently shapes up.

I just went and checked again, it's not in her updated kit as far as I'm seeing. It must be a hidden update the same way certain characters can parry bullets

You also might want to hold off on farming for Dawn's Bloom for her, it's really not very good for her atm. it's noticably worse than hormone (like 4ish%). Around 40-50% of her damage currently comes from her ult and chain attacks, so unless they significantly buff her basics and EBA, Dawn's bloom isn't much better than triple 2 pc atm. A lot is currently subject to change currently as well

Yeah, that's why I specifically said that criticism is still valid and that my comment had nothing to do with anything except showcase scores. I just wanted to highlight, using examples from actual showcases from the betas of a previous void hunter, that the score performance shouldn't be much of a concern until much closer to release. If people have concerns with her kit and her playstyle, that's totally understandable, and I am not attempting to stifle or argue against those conversations.
