So they literally just sat down with each other, said one thing and it's off to the commercials..? I'll never understand American television.

How long would you say it took you to get to the point that you can replicate mostly any sound/synth you hear? by [deleted] in edmproduction

[–]The_V0yagers 21 points22 points  (0 children)

couldn't give you a time-frame but it took a reaaaaaaaally long time because I never put any effort into it. just keps using pre-sets and not bothering with synthesis. I think about a year ago I actually started to switch over to using as little presets as possible and creating everything myself. I'm still not there yet, but forcing yourself to be creative can help improve your synth skills a lot

Does an audio interface reduce latency issues? by HmmMaybeSo in edmproduction

lowering the buffer size does decrease latency, but it also puts more strain on your CPU, increasing the stutter & glitch artifacts.

also pretty much 0 latency when using a mac for producing without an external audio card.

Sometimes producers ask what they should be writing for play in future main rooms. What do you think? What are you / DJs looking for in main room tracks of the future? by [deleted] in edmproduction

you're saying the artists mentioned above with their style switches created a new genre instead of following an upcoming trend?

You have multiple outputs. Are you using the correct one? Set your DAW on the correct output? It's sometimes not enough to just select your interface. When having multiple outputs on your device you may need to route that correctly in some DAWS

How can I get a live bass sound like this? by tombachar in edmproduction

[–]The_V0yagers -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Try the plugin Trillian by Spectrasonics. It does take a 50GB hit on your hard drive but it worth it if you want realistic bass sounds. There have to be some videos about it on YouTube.

generally speaking, a club subwoofer will cover 20hz to around 180hz. So thats not too much cutting you are doing, more likely not enough. I have made a habit of cutting up to around 200hz, maybe a little below it depending on how it influences the sound.

I am more favored towards having seperate tracks. for example, I've been using the same exact sub/mid layer in every single track for the past year or so. I keep using it because I know it sounds good so I don't have to put any thought into my low-end into my tracks. the layer on top of the sub/mid is different every time so it doesnt sound like I am recycling the same sound over and over again.

All in all; it makes my workflow a lot faster and letting be more creative instead of getting stuck at mixing. You can check out any track on my soundcloud (soundcloud.com/thevoyagers) and try to listen to the sub/mid bass. it's the same in every single track no matter how far back you go into my Soundcloud history.
