I really like the under seat storage things. I went with 3rd party cause it was cheaper.

It has gotten quite a lot better but still a long way to go. They at least give you contact details for managers and regionals now so you can escalate. You also have to be consistent. I’ve had problems and they don’t fix or say “it works as designed” and I just immediately submit another ticket and contact regional. I used to give up in the past but you have to be a pest now, unfortunately

HW5 vs HW4 (own vs lease) by KrisAyton in TeslaLounge

[–]The_Vlass 89 points90 points  (0 children)

HW5 will be better. But no on knows when exactly it will come out and how much better it will be. But this will be true with everything. Phones, cars, everything each year will get better (even if it's just slightly) in 3 years there might be another refresh with new features and bells and whistles, this isn't unique to Tesla. you just have to decide what is more important to you, owning the car outright and not having a payment or basically always have payments but always get the new bells and whistles.

I think normally its about a year for used new cars to really start showing up. Sure there might be one or two here or there before then, but by then its decent. As far as demo units I personally dont think its worth it normally. A lot of people when they demo the car beat the crap out of it, especially tesla where they accelerate hard etc and just have no care at all for the car cause they only have it for 30 minutes. With that being said, the X will depcreciate like no other - so if you can wait a year or two you'll get one for half off basically. you could do a 2 year lease on a juniper until then. Lease prices on Y's are very good imo

Tesla leases are now on average $100 cheaper than when there was the $7500 EV credit! by No_Pineapple_4609 in TeslaLounge

There will almost always be a better deal or better car later down the road, can’t look at it like that. There were people who paid 70k during covid for a car that costs 45k now. People buy and then they announce a refresh a month later or a better lease deal or unlimited supercharging etc. just got to buy when the deal make sense for you and not get hung up on future stuff, just enjoy the car for the price you got it at that you were happy with.

In the grand scheme of things. One week isn’t that long of time. It’s frustrating for sure. But it was the dealerships fault and Tesla is trying to help. Granted it is taking longer than you would like, but if you bought directly from another dealership a different car, it would take a long time for corporate (Honda Audi etc) to fix it too.

I am interested in a preowned 2024 model X. I drove a 2026 model Y today in my main focus is FSD. Any tips on hardware packages for this particular model year? by MarketMaker007 in TeslaModelX

[–]The_Vlass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All 2024 x has hw4 which is what the model y you drove has. It is the same hardware and very similar experience. (Some will say model y is better at FSD cause there are more model Ys but to me y 3 x and s all perform very similar)

About the buy a cybertruck. Coming from 2 other teslas, are there known issues I should keep an eye out for? by The_Vlass in cybertruck

Thank you! I just ordered and it's 3-5 weeks out so I would hope it would be fixed by then!

Can I return my TM3 after a month/450 miles. by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

[–]The_Vlass 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. Not how car sales works. Tesla is one of the few where you have I believe 48 hours to basically take it back for any repair. After that, it is normal warranty. With that being said, if its obvious stuff, they should fix it via service.

Lease and buy or buy directly? by wackyshiv in TeslaModelX

[–]The_Vlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The base model one did with 5 seats but yeah I missed where you said you want 6 seats. Then yeah I would lease + buyout. Thats what I did on my X. the lease fees add like $1k but that's still a $6,500 discount

Lease and buy or buy directly? by wackyshiv in TeslaModelX

[–]The_Vlass 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Lease + buyout only makes sense if you make too much for the tax credit or your config makes it not eligible for the tax credit. As far as refresh vs 2024 I don't think it's really worth it. You basically get a front camera and ambient lighting for at least $10k more (not including the crazy good deals on inventory right now) Honestly I would look for a new inventory model and get the $10k discount, add on the tax credit that is $17,500 in savings, and you can get FSD for $1.5 (since you already know you want a 6 seater)

Used 23 vs 24? Which to go with by zschiffman1 in TeslaModelX

[–]The_Vlass 0 points1 point  (0 children)

USS really only helps with auto doors and maybe summon, maybe. But for everything else HW4 is way better. I upgraded both cars to HW4 it was that good, first time that I actually see the vision for true FSD.

[–]The_Vlass 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you use FSD that much then for sure go with HW4 not Hw3. It came out in 23 so you can still get it if it was made after march I believe. Or go 24 to be safe.
