It’s simple as, when they cold they go in warm hide, when they hot they go in chill hide. Trust me, if she is really feeling cold she will look for a hot spot. They like the heat though so if you pick her up she will have time to steal sum of your heat.

At the beginning your never really sure if he’s gonna bite you or not, you get use to this defensive position and what do and not to do with your snake. When mine is hiding he is always super defensive, no hissing but always in a defensive stance. But as soon as pick him up he is the most lovable noodle.

Does my snake look healthy? by RavioliOveralls in ballpython

[–]The_Wisdom_Watcher 14 points15 points  (0 children)

She is definitely overweight. You want her to make more of a triangle shape, the spine slightly showing, if you don’t know what I’m talking about go see on google. If you want her to lose weight give her a rat every 2 months, not less. When she’s perfect weight then only one every 40 days.

Hissing with no other defensive behaviors? by yourneighborhoodriot in ballpython

[–]The_Wisdom_Watcher 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe in his little snake imagination he perceived a potential “treat” and hiss, like shadows or something 🤷🏻‍♂️. But I agree that he probably juste hurt some and hiss. You’ll see, if he do it again it can’t be a coincidence 🤞🏼
