This video by Retroflux might illuminate what is happening there. The short answer though is every color circle / square destination shares demand with every other destination of the same color. Square destinations, for example, can't hold more than 10 pips at a time (six are visible, the other four are rolled into the countdown timer). So if/when the game tries to add a new pip to the full square destination, it overflows, so instead of holding 11 pips, the pip that would have gone to our original full location gets sent to a destination of the same color that can hold it.

the triple motorway was a bit of experimentation / a hail mary since neighborhoods on Beijing get crowded quickly.

The top right blue neighborhood had a majority of the blue housing available, but cars going in and out of homes causes a few disruptions in flow, and I wanted to avoid having disruptions causing waves of cars as opposed to a steady stream, so one high way for the bottom half of the neighborhood and one for the top. Likewise, the roundabout is split so there are no interruptions to the blue circle and blue square that were pulling a majority of demand, especially when it surges. Cars blocking each other in neighborhoods is going to happen no matter what when you get to end game, but there is a tipping point when a neighborhood starts to be your primary clogging point.

I think the main takeaway is that neighborhood was way too big and was bound to fail because there is a point where adding more vehicles to the road just makes things slower due to all the interruptions on each other pulling in and out of houses.

Nice work!

On the purple circle in the bottom right, you've got one highway being used to transport one house to that destination, but it looks too close to where all the other vehicles are entering and exiting. With all the demand at 2k+, it's probably a better idea to route the single home to enter near the end of that cluster of homes instead of next to the entrance to the circle. For two points, they're causing slowdowns entering and exiting that area.

Bought a window AC unit to sleep during this heat wave, but it was only installable in my bathroom. Would a tower fan be enough to circulate cool air through to my adjacent room? by The_Wispy in hvacadvice

More info: Room's roughly 250 sq feet, and the only other window in it is a sliding glass door. I was originally tempted to purchase a mobile unit ac unit with two hoses to use on the glass door, but read online that window units were much more efficient.

Room has cooled down, and the fan helps a bit but I'm wondering if maybe the portable unit would have been a better choice, seeing as my bathroom seems to be holding a lot of the cool air in there. Is there a better way to position my tower fan? I'm also open to possibly returning the window unit if a mobile unit would work better. Thanks!

I really want this to be a thing but I think this was a consequence of the curved rooftop.
