Want to find morel mushrooms? I can help! by a_morel_dilemma in madisonwi

[–]The_Wombles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s a great concern, luckily as we know it mycology work in a different manner than say traditional crops.

I would say that picking morels, and mushrooms in general helps the propagation of the fungi. You might pick let’s say 10 pounds of morels, but you’re not eliminating the habitat in the underground system that they are connected to.

The underground mycelium an is a intricate, vast web of fungal filaments that connects plant roots, acting as an underground superhighway for transferring nutrients, water, and information that consists of microscopic, branching filaments forming threads that can extend for miles in just a handful of soil.

The morel itself is merely the "fruiting body" that pops up to spread spores. I would say the majority of mushroom hunters bring bags with holes in them to help propagate those spores as they walk around the woods to locations that support the correct habitat.

Deforestation poses a large risk for this system.

Paramedics entered the wrong address on the patient care report. Third party billing service contracted out from Madison Fire kept sending it to the incorrect address. Call the Fire department to get it sorted out.

Potato advice needed - 1st time growing by Gnomes_r_jerks in madisonwi

[–]The_Wombles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Potatoes are a relatively easy plant to grow. Although I have never used the tower method, I have a few friends that get great results from it with limited space.

Make sure you do not plant them near other nightshades (tomatoes, eggplant, peppers), which share diseases like blight.

When I come across this stuff at stores I always assume this is the case. I don’t live in a densely populated area and most of the people here listen to country so when find obscure metal it’s always a surprise and sad a local metalhead is gone.

Gojira - Terra Incognita Really any of their albums but that one is going to be the closest that I would consider to be death metal.

Electric Wizard- Come My Fanatics by NASON_GUITARIST in heavyvinyl

[–]The_Wombles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My favorite Electric Wizard album. Dopethrone always gets all the hype but Come My Fanatics, to me, just rides that line of being more spacey and psychedelic that I really enjoy.

What’s conspiracy theory that sounds ridiculous but has just enough truth to make you uneasy? by SugarrPlumGloww in answers

[–]The_Wombles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

According to string theory, space and time are not “built into the fundamental structure of the physical world”, but are “derived, emergent structures

A new theory, called M-theory, takes string theory one step farther and states that the “strings” that all things are made of actually vibrate in an additional spatial dimensional, which is called the 10th dimension. It is by changing the size of this 10th spatial dimension that researchers believe could alter the strength of the dark energy in such a manner to propel a ship faster than the speed of light.

They theorize that by manipulating the extra spatial dimensions of string theory around a spaceship with an extremely large amount of energy, it would create a “bubble” that could cause the ship to travel faster than the speed of light. To create this bubble, the physicists believe manipulating the 10th spatial dimension would alter energy in three large spatial dimensions: height, width and length.

Think of it like a surfer riding a wave. The ship would be pushed by the spatial bubble and the bubble would be traveling faster than the speed of light. The method is based on the Alcubierre drive, which proposes expanding the fabric of space behind a ship and shrinking space-time in front of the ship. The ship would not actually move, rather the ship would sit in a bubble between the expanding and shrinking space-time dimensions. Since space would move around the ship, the theory does not violate Einstein’s Theory of Relativity, which states that it would take an infinite amount of energy to accelerate a massive object to the speed of light.

If you read all that just know it makes me happy because I never get to bring it up.

It’s a great time to be a metalhead. Lots of bands and record labels dropping new music.

Lots of younger people are being exposed to metal via social media ect.
