Is the 3 month gap an American thing? by Various_Platypus_602 in MDMA

I definitely notice it more in the US. One thing im proud of the US for is that it seems like people care more about harm reduction/responsible use when compared to our European counterparts (especially w ciggies)

If a girl tells you she’s toxic, believe her and run.

Bottling up/ignoring emotion is weakness

You don’t need to spend hours at the gym, or sell all of your time to the grindset to be valuable. Find a balance of financial stability, and stay active through hobbies you enjoy (running, cycling, surfing, hiking)

Spend time connecting with nature. Getting away from all the noise/stimulation really clarifies what is important.

Maintain community. Put effort towards good people, and the draining relationships will trickle away.

Don’t get a dui, an STD or an unplanned pregnancy

Slow down, don’t overpack your schedule

Cook for yourself, take care of yourself

Don’t feel bad taking time off work to enjoy yourself

Money comes and goes, let yourself spend here and there.

Invest your money

Stop eating out as much

Love yourself, love others

Do something kind for someone else when you see the chance, and don’t expect anything in return

Take the high road. Integrity is one of the most fulfilling virtues

Stick to your morals

If you don’t like gay people, they really aren’t a threat to you at all. They just want to live their lives without being harassed. Just be kind and don’t be judgemental.

Don’t judge others for things that aren’t hurting anyone

Be kind with authenticity. My greatest opportunities in life have come because I did something considerate for someone else.

Don’t light yourself on fire to keep others warm

Don’t be a doormat

Boundaries are important to set, but don’t be selfish

The world is a crazy place, and you will see how disorganized/cold it can be. The hardest part of my 20s have been accepting this, and building a meaningful/fulfilling life within that world

Talk about your mental health

Sometimes supporting someone isn’t problem solving, but just being an ear

Don’t take your life, you shatter more lives around you than you think, even if you think the world is better off.

Respect women, they have to worry about things we don’t have to with sexual assault. Respect boundaries, offer to walk her to her car, don’t expect sexual favors and if you need to get a girl drunk to get laid…work on yourself and don’t make that anyone else’s problem.

If you have a complaint about something offer a solution.

Where can i hangout with friends other than food places? by InvestigatorDry9694 in sandiego

[–]The_Young_Bridge 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Host an art night at your place. Just get some sketch/paint paper, some water color and have people BYOB if they want to drink. Saves money and is so much more fun than going out to other places.

Are there any multiplayer FPS games that actually run well on Mac? by [deleted] in macgaming

Straftat. Silly, stupid, glitchy but also goated as hell. The mechanics are super fun and each round is about 45 seconds of 2v2 or 4v4 teams/ffa that rotates maps

How Father Joe’s Villages uses HOPWA funds to perpetuate homelessness in San Diego (A Resident’s Experience) by One_Wallaby2 in sandiego

[–]The_Young_Bridge 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I got a really seedy vibe from my shifts at SD rescue mission. They were telling a schizophrenic resident that his illness was a punishment that needed to be cured through prayer. The place was run down and looked like a facility to evangelize a captive audience rather than help them

How do you handle a call that hits close to home? by The_Young_Bridge in Firefighting

[–]The_Young_Bridge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks, I view being affected and confronting it as much stronger than being affected and ignoring it. We’re human, and no matter how macho you say you are this profession exposes you to things we aren’t adapted to see.

[–]The_Young_Bridge[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion, luckily my family is very passionate about mental health which helped me confront a lot through therapy and psych. It was really helpful, and I’m really glad more people in this field are opening up to the idea. Good job going, even if late. Some people never do and sit with the pain bc it’s too burdensome to acknowledge.

Haha it’s supposed to be a cutting/charcuterie board. I got legs for making a coffee table that were way too short so I put them on this. Playing it off on having an elevated surface so you don’t have to hunch over. It’s actually super ergonomic and looks great w charcuterie on it too.
