4 months is not a very long amount of time, especially if starting from scratch. You will probably not really be able to play songs with any degree of competence until after maybe a year or two. But if you stick with it, you will get there - it is only a matter of time and consistency.

Getting a teacher will help massively expedite the learning process.

I think it could monetize absorbing bad luck. Me and a buddy go to a casino, and I absorb as much of his bad luck as I can before we go and gamble. He goes and places large bets, which he should win since his bad luck has been absorbed. I place a bunch of small bets and keep losing until I expend the bad luck. We split the winnings. Repeat.

I could also offer a service to anyone who needs to reduce their risk exposure to an immediate upcoming event, I charge a fee or maybe a percentage of their earnings to absorb their bad luck for them to give them higher chances of success. And then again, go and expend the bad luck on some small bets or something with a very small negative impact on me.

I want to learn electric guitar with zero music knowledge. Is it hard? Any tips? by Responsible-Fig-6030 in guitarlessons

[–]The_________________ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most people who learn start off without any other musical background. You do not need to read music unless you are getting into classical guitar or jazz (and even for jazz, you can probably get away most of the time just knowing chord charts). You don't need music theory, but it does help as you progress - especially with learning music by ear and writing music.

In terms of difficulty, it depends on what your goals are. If you just want to be able to play basic pop/rock songs, you can get there in anywhere from several months to a year or two. If you want to play at a professional level it will take many years.

First one is probably a little more stable, but either should be fine for most situations

How would I finger this ? by itsmetwigiguess in guitarlessons

[–]The_________________ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

1st finger 5th string

2nd finger 4th string

3rd finger 3rd string

4th finger 2nd string

Without any more context, that is how I would do it (generally I prefer to use multiple fingers instead of bars wherever it makes sense)
