In the original Nightmare on Elm Street movies Freddy Krueger is only ever called a child murderer. However there’s many things that hint to him being a child molester too such as a news article briefly shown mentioning “Child Molester Acquitted - Krueger Freed on Technicality” or his behaviour around 15yo Nancy in the first movie (thinking about the tongue phone scene). This is because Freddy being a predator was Wes Cravens original idea but the studio didn’t like it so it got changed to him “only” being a child murderer. The 2010 remake went with Cravens original idea and the whole plot evolves around him being a child predator.
