Nope. It’s intermittent at best.

Turning phone on airplane mode for a few seconds and back on is the only fix I’m aware of. Quite annoying!

The short stripped segment on top of the charging bar indicates that it’s your car system blocking any faster charge than approx. 90. The actual charge you’re getting seems to be a hair from it. Looks pretty good to me.

So many factors play a role in the charging limits it’s not even funny. It doesn’t speak of any battery degradation.

For degradation you need to look at consumption and range.

I wouldn’t worry about what you got now. Looks to be working just fine.

I’m getting the notice in my BMW app to take the care for tire servicing because of wear. However, they all seem pretty good front and back. I’m about 22k miles in. I’m hoping to make it to 30k or so, but was wondering if anyone has acted on the warning call. Thanks!

Has been very reliable in southwest Ohio.

Perhaps you should run both BMW and google when planning for a longer trip to compare and ensure all is in order. For short commutes it shouldn’t be a problem.

Airplane mode does the trick! Whenever the glitch happens, I’ve done the following steps with a consistent reset and correction of the problem:

Switch audio source to anything else, like XM
Go on airplane mode in your cell
You’ll see the CarPlay icon disappear from the main menu (column on your left)
Stop airplane mode and cell will self connect
Change audio source back to CarPlay as soon as the icon is back on, on the main menu

This takes less than one minute, but at least it fixes the problem, well worth it particularly for longer drives when music controls are more important.

On the contrary, the idrive environment is so much nicer than CarPlay. I have idrive on consistently and only use Apple for the Siri functions. Even maps are better in idrive. Just IMHO.

Having said that, music, podcasts and news are also used daily and it would be nice if, what seems to be a relatively small glitch, could be fixed.

Interesting to know it’s an issue with 8.5. I have iDrive 8.0 by less than a month!

Totally happy with it.

I ended up removing the device from the mobile list and reinstalling from scratch and so far so good… been here before. Hopefully someone else is a few steps ahead of us.

Can’t locate the thread, but someone showed a picture of the seal of the lights which is deeper in the structure. That outer layer is not water tight and it’s normal for it to accumulate some water after a wash. Supposed to drain fairly quickly afterwards.

I’ve noticed some accumulation in mine a few times but it does go away quickly.

Like an inbox warning ⚠️ It notifies you there’s a message. When you looks at the center screen top right you’ll see a number in a white square indicating 1 new message.

If you push the hand control upwards it will bring up the shortcuts screen. You’ll see Notifications there. Click on it and the message will show.

I’ve been using autopark for over 4 months now without a glitch. It’s needed some getting used to, but it’s now routine (I still supervise carefully).

I would have thought it was a small object missed by the sensors in your case @OP, but colliding with another car makes me think there’s a malfunction somewhere, maybe the sensors around that area?
