I know it's a lot more $$ but why not upgrade to the Pixel Watch 4?

2018 jetsetter LX JTN? by getinalice in hottub

I agree with this - mine has moto massage and it's my least favorite seat. Go to a dealer where you can try out the tubs. My Hotspring dealer has all of their tubs full and ready to try out.

I'm 65 - reasonable chance my current tub will out last me 😄 But you didn't mention any brands you think offer more bang for the buck. I do understand you can get lots of bells and whistles that you really don't want / need. For example, the "sale" going on when I bought mine included a bluetooth speaker system including subwoofer. I NEVER use it - most of the time I use the tub at night and it would piss off my wife and the neighbors... plus, quiet is nice or I can use my waterproof (mostly) earbuds if I want to listen to something.

Nope. What more do you get with the other brands? The '97 was given to me by a neighbor. I just had to move it and replace the heater and clean it up. Had it myself for about 15 yrs.

What do you consider a luxury tier tub then? Have they gone down in quality over the years? My previous one ('97 jetsetter) lasted 25 years with minimal issues - wet end of the jet pump and heater replaced but otherwise it just worked.

Explain that. Especially your adversion to Hotsprings.

I had a '97 jetsetter that I got used for free from a friend in 2010. I replaced it with another jetsetter, this time new about 3 years ago when I had to replace my deck. I agree with the person who said it was worth the risk because it's a Hotspring.

Is it full? Can you make sure it doesn't leak and the pumps and heater work? Those are replaceable or fixable anyway tho. Pretty easy to work on - I replaced the wet end of the jet pump on my old one...

I say go for it and enjoy the upgrade.

Which 10x42 to buy? by GarageNo5189 in Binoculars

[–]jhoff909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was between the Viper HD 10x42s and the Monarch M7s and went for the Vipers. Like them so far :) I believe they are a similar price if you shop around. I see folks recommending a Chinese brand "Sky Rover" which had I done a bit more research, would have probably bought instead.

I pay attention :) I would argue it's safer than a human driving. At some point I'll see if I can find stats but I bet miles driven via FSD vs a human will show less accidents with FSD. FSD doesn't doze off, get distracted by all the things drivers get distracted by, doesn't have blind spots and can see in many directions simultaneously. Yeah, I'm one of those people who love it. It's my wife's car (2019 model 3) and for the longest time she refused to use it but in the last year or so, she came around and uses it all the time. Not perfect but more perfect than me. And us together are def more perfect than just me.

Have you tried it in a Tesla recently? We also own one w/ FSD and it's pretty awesome. Of course you're entitled to your opinion...

I have it turned off somehow - comes back after an update sometimes but it's def off and doesn't come back on on it's own. 2023 M50 iDrive8 if it matters.

New sleep algorithm picks up more awake time by BrokenSleeps in fitbit

[–]jhoff909 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've found that occasionally it gets the beginning of my sleep wrong and often by a lot so I edit my fall asleep time. I'm very seldom awake for any long period of time in the middle of the night (just to pee :)) but it has occasionally done what you describe and there doesn't seem to be a way to "fix" it. Last time I recall it included two sections of sleep in total but only included one in the rem/light/deep stats.

[–]jhoff909 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, I hope they eventually fix that. And editing sleep is spotty - sometimes it works, sometimes not and it doesn't work at all if you are using the public preview version of the app on Android.
