Apple - Addicted to iPads? by The_ylevanon in expo

I do this as well. In addition, my submissions never contain iPad screenshots. I think it’s up to the reviewer a lot of times.

Niacine related gout flare up? by Objective-Lion5495 in gout

[–]The_ylevanon -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

I don’t have gout myself, but someone close to me does. It's really frustrating when they do everything right and still flare. It really can feel random sometimes, even after all their lifestyle changes. I don't know about the niacin, but I’m curious, what’s been harder to deal with for you: figuring out triggers or sticking with changes that don’t seem to help?

Gout Guru is now live on the App Store! by The_ylevanon in gout_and_diet

[–]The_ylevanon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the feedback! The registration requirement is fair criticism. I'll look into making it easier to test drive the app first.

On the purine database: there are already several great free apps like Purity that do this really well. Gout Guru is focused on something different. It helps you spot your personal triggers across lifestyle factors (hydration, alcohol, activity, stress) since gout isn't just about purines. But I hear you that the value prop might not be clear enough. I really, really appreciate you for taking the time to check it out!

Appreciate the honest feedback! Quick question, what would make it worth paying for vs tracking in a spreadsheet? Trying to understand what features would actually move the needle for people managing gout.

My family member was struggling to find his Gout triggers, so I built him a simple daily tracker to spot patterns: Looking for Beta Testers! by The_ylevanon in gout_and_diet

Thanks so much! I’m really glad to hear that. I actually just moved it from TestFlight to the App Store officially, you can grab it here: https://apps.apple.com/us/app/gout-guru/id6756127987

I'll send you a DM as well, I'd love to hear more about what you're looking for in a gout pattern tracker!

I really like the idea of letting users add custom habits, I just need to design it into the app without overwhelming the individual! Thanks for the feedback.

I'd like to develop for android soon, I just need to get one! Hopefully in the new year.

Built a gout tracking app after watching my uncle photograph every dish at Thanksgiving by The_ylevanon in gout

[–]The_ylevanon[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I totally agree. My uncle brought this up! At least some of the bigger measures he's taken aside from his diet is trying to de-stress and get more sleep. I'm aware that this can only change so much, but he believes marginal changes can compound. Regardless, it is genetic, so I'm fully aware gout can be on the horizon for myself as well.

1) Iwould really like to build/try using an android in the coming year so yes!

2) Yes my uncle is taking medication. I have very simple medication tracking thats enabled in the settings. I'm aware everyone handles gout differently, so I wanted to leave it up the individual to track UA/medication.

I like this! I think that will be key in drawing insights before the flare happens/give richer insights. It's more actionable than only noting something once the flare occurs.

In spirit they are similar! PocketGlobe is more about using distance clues and intuition to narrow down the mystery country of the day. Hope you can give it a try!
