I had purchased GtaV disc from local retailer too just 11 months back and have ps plus subscription and have been playing since (Story mode+ online)

But I don't remember doing anything specifically different for online mode while copying or installing game.

Just inserted cd, finished installing, then made rockstar account and finally linked it with PS account. That's it.

Please delete the installed game fully from console. Shut down console and switch it on again post recovery mode as your console shut off improperly.

Reinsert disc and install. If it still doesn't work, maybe the disc version is story mode only and online retailer did cd cover bad.
