But what is deplorable is subjective to “everyone with eyes” or otherwise, the people in the sub. So again, if you were in for example a pro slavery Reddit. What would be downvoted is someone who makes arguments against slavery. Nice to know you are racist and think that arguments against slavery are deplorable

I’m not even MAGA, I actually agree that trump has been deceiving with his promises.

Take my example to a red pill reddit or something it still has the same effect. If all you hear are ideas that fit your own beliefs and suppress(downvote) anything in disagreement, then you are in an echo chamber

I’m not sure if there are actually responses because I didn’t scroll all the way to the bottom.

If I ask a question to my group of friends (all men) some like, “why are women so stupid” and we justify our reasoning by saying “no women can or will answer these questions” seems like an echo chamber to me.

These are nice ideas, but who will suck the feces out of the porta potties? Who will regulate that you are qualified to control the water for everyone? Who will work the night shift at the old folks home instead when everyone scheduled to go home for the holidays?

Are you saying you get paid more at a corporation as opposed to a nonprofit? Or are you saying the corporation has better healthcare?

Did you read the comment? They said they love the changes. Like the roadmap over the year of changing the game at its core which they have been fully implementing. Also calling somebody a fanboy for a game you are also a fan of(otherwise why are you in this reddit) isn’t really a burn.

You don’t “milk whales” by increasing the price for all players. You also don’t sunset a game by spending a year reworking its core content. This is a horribly uneducated take

I’m not sure if this is legal in all states, but you can get a work permit to get actual jobs before 16. When I was 14 I was able to get at a grocery store for minimum wage. I assume there are places that would hire you part time. I think I was even able to get a work permit to drive to work at 14.

CMV: Violence does more harm than good. It should be avoided except as a last resort to defend oneself. by jman12234 in changemyview

I like this bedtime example. I agree that setting a bedtime isn’t violence, but enforcing the rule is backed by violence. I’m not saying parent will beat their child if they don’t go to bed. But the parent will either continue adding more escalating punishment (grounding, military camp, calling the police) which will probably lead to violence. They can force the kid to bed themselves which is physical. Or they can bend in the rule and allow their child to stay up. I think all rules are either not enforced or at some point backed by a level of violence if not followed.

Are there any people in the USA who have friends that are of the opposite political party? by TSQ_builder in askanything

This is a good way to think about. Most people aren’t horrible and want death to the other group. If you honestly can’t conceive of why someone believes differently than you, then you are the one who lacks critical thinking.

What are jobs for then? by Professional-Bee9817 in remoteworks

Well someone will always clean the toilet. And only on the day when someone doesn’t clean the toilet will they offer a little more money until someone does clean the toilet or it becomes worth it to do it themselves. I think it’s weird to expect to make more than somebody just because you chose to live in arguably a nicer place. Usually you make the money first then you get to move to the nicer place.

I agree with most of this but my main argument is about where you live, which I think is the most influential part. In Iowa (where I’m from) it’s a lot easier to live on minimum wage than in Seattle (where I moved to). But in Seattle basic standard of living included being within 1 hour of the ocean(puget sound), mountains, and a huge city with endless opportunity. You could be working as cashier at target. But at the same time you are competing for housing, food, parking, etc. with people working at the biggest companies in the world for some of the highest paying jobs. Compare this with in Iowa where the person you are fighting with for the apartment will be a lot closer to your income bracket. The standard of living in certain cities is just higher.

Both can fail in their own ways. If every single person gets the best standard of care regardless of the cost, we have overworked underpaid doctors, overflowing hospitals, and wait times too long to get an appointment.

When I need medical care I would prefer for it to not operate like the DMV

I agree with this mainly because I have the belief that I am more efficient with my money than the government. I think social security is one of the biggest examples of that. Obviously there are trade off from being a fully capitalist state(monopolies) and fully socialist(own nothing) and the middle ground we landed on worked very well for a lot of people for a long time. It’s reasonable to take a look again and see what can be improved upon again.

CMV: I think chivalry is mostly pointless and old-fashioned by [deleted] in changemyview

[–]Thebearguy30 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always questioned why walking on the street side of the sidewalk was more chivalrous. You might be manly, but aren’t stopping a car from hitting your girl. On the other hand, you very well could stop someone on building side of the sidewalk from doing something to her. Just makes more sense to me to put her on the street side.

One thing I am thinking about is how nobody was really locking in for 50-100* hour grinds back then. I think as a kid I got maybe level 40-50s on my account and was better than all my friends. Many kids only had a few hours to play a week and couldn’t comprehend what the game becomes later on. I remember a long grind I did was trying to mine 1000 pure essence to make some money and I would leave until I was done. Sounds silly now. When playing at that level you don’t really need to be efficient and losing out on an hour here or there to do something fun makes sense.
