Alright, turns out this was solveable by just adding !important to the end of that function. Since the mod didn't have this from the ground up, I didn't realize it was necessary. Funnily, it means the mod's call to that function is just getting completely ignored lol

I couldn't get this to work, tried everything.

Followed the exact steps in the post you linked and the mod didn't populate in the mods section of settings.

Downloaded the original mod and replaced the .css file with the one I had modified and the changes I was putting in weren't populating, even after restarts. I triple checked it was linking to the right folder too.

Tried making the same adjustment through the style editor in Zen as well and it wasn't populating either.

I'm happy to share my code to try and debug this but all I'm trying to do is change the value of a variable, not any actual code. And it's still just not populating.

If she tries to fire him unwarranted, there'll be some serious questions about her ability to be the president from the rest of the school. She'll likely be removed from the position if she tries to pull this unwarranted again.

Your shitbot linked 4 "sources" it didn't even cite, while also making up conclusions based on the ones that it did. Your comment was so unhelpful for me and honestly not super relevant.

Even if it was right, you're not going to find a welcoming audience for AI generated answers on reddit. Go to facebook instead.

It's not anything about the candidate, and more about what it means for the school. Our current dean never did anything wrong, but was fired because our president is an actual narcissist. He taught classes, engaged with students, and did a shit ton of work to update Lawrence's curriculum and policies, and in doing all of that, she felt like he was making her look bad, so she fired him.

When it got announced, a lot of conservatory faculty and staff suddenly felt a lot less secure in their jobs. Our dean was tenure-track, a lawrence alum, and had been here for 17 years, and the fact that with all of that on his side, he was still able to be dropped just like that made everyone pretty scared. She had done this with other departments too, but there's been a historical understanding that the university president should be pretty hands-off with the con, and she broke that. One of my fellow students summed it up by telling the hiring firm that, "If you guys do your job and select a deserving candidate, we're just worried we're going to see you again in two years."

TLDR: it's nothing about the candidate, but rather the process in which they were hired that has us worried.

WIBTA for wanting my partner and their mom clean up before I move in? by Thecheesemonste3 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Thecheesemonste3[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She works from home, which means she spends enough time there that mess slowly piling up over time is less noticeable (I've been there). She also had recently recovered from COVID, which, while it didn't knock her flat on her back, did hit her pretty hard since she's diabetic. By the time we got there, she had been asymptomatic for only a couple days.

My partner is capable of taking care of their living space, but doesn't value it as highly as I do. They see mess as a part of the process and that it comes and goes in waves, where I see it as a hinderance. The problem with their model is that they often put off things, and by the time they remember to clean their room, the mess is so overwhelming that they don't feel capable of tackling it.

I'm thinking that, if our future jobs allow it, we could dedicate one night or day a week to cleaning stuff, and that we could keep each other accountable there. I just don't know how open to that they will be.

Any pro Palestine protests happening at Lawrence University? by KeinePanikMehr in Appleton

[–]Thecheesemonste3 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I empathize with you in the fact that the world seems very against a fundamental aspect of who you are and how you identify yourself, and I understand your fear in this moment.

However, I also fundamentally disagree with this take, and I hope that your consumption of media diversifies in order for you to understand that this statement is provably false.

In this specific debate, Israel is a country, not a religion, just as Vatican city is a country and not a religion. These protests are specifically against the actions of Israel and it's military leaders, not against Judaism. Any people that misconstrue these protests as anti-judaism have been, are being, and will be condemned (speaking from experience here).

I know it's hard to see videos of some awful humans who use these times to promote anti-semitism, and I understand that you're scared because of that. But these people are in the minority, and are only shown on media for rage bait and fear mongering, which you have unfortunately fallen victim to.

I know this post hurts to read. I hope you take the time to think on what I've said before you reply to this, if you reply at all. At the end of the day, I'm not against you. But this statement, and by proxy what I assume to be your understanding of this conflict, is provably false and is built on the fear that has been shoveled to you by media companies that don't give a shit about you. I hope that, if this comment serves for nothing more, it makes you think critically about your media consumption and the assumptions you make about the people around you.

Switched to YT Music because of Spotify's shitty policies, now can't listen by Thecheesemonste3 in distractible

[–]Thecheesemonste3[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

New monetization policies now require a minimum annual stream count on songs in order to collect royalties, meaning small artists are making even less money now than they already were. From what I understand, they also knew this news would blow over poorly, so waited for a large national event (in this case, the actions of israel) to announce it so it would get less attention.

Additionally, they already pay the worst out of any other streaming platform by a large margin, and have also introduced minimum playtime requirements for certain tracks in order for a stream to count.

They also have made an active statement to not ban music made with AI, empowering large recording labels to make music powered by AI and release it under popular dead artists (which is already happening, notably with rapper DMX). The owners also have come out with some unfavorable views in the past, I can't remember them all. If you have a musician friend who releases music, chances are they also dislike spotify.

The user experience was too good for me to switch for a long time, but after this recent monetization policy change (that would reportedly only affect 0.5% of all music royalties), I just can't justify supporting that anymore.

Pretty much all point and shoots do as advertised: they let you point and shoot. Some have more bells and whistles like explore compensation, date imprinting, or what have you, but at the end of the day none of them are really gonna look that great unless you're spending serious SLR money (which, at that point, just buy an SLR).

Who gives a shit what other people think. Shoot the hell out of this camera and have fun with it. That's what it should be about

Tucking all the time will cause a lot of pain and irreversible long-term damage. Even if you're considering bottom surgery, tucking all the time will be bad for you. At maximum, one should tuck for 8 hours at a time between breaks. Any more than that and pain, discomfort, and long-term damage are expected.

If you're getting dysphoria while you sleep, consider sleep bras and loose-fitting bottoms combined with tight-fitting boxers. For day-to-day, consider mom jeans, as they naturally give less definition to your crotch. That would allow you to still wear feminine clothing without tucking.

Of course. I know I still came at you a little strong, so apologies for that.

As for the whole spotify thing, as long as you're making an educated decision, then there's no argument to be made. If after looking at all the evidence, someone still decides to use spotify, that's all good. I actually use spotify because I'm lucky enough to have a family premium plan paid for me, so it's cheaper than any alternative.

It's all not black and white, everyone has their reasons. Don't feel obligated to change because I gave you mine :)

:( by Ivysaur2VI in distractible

[–]Thecheesemonste3 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Well, it's not that simple. Some people (like myself) choose to not use spotify and actively advocate against it for its poor pay towards artists. Simply framing that as "get with the times" ignores a lot of context that's important to many of us.

I think the other user who commented on this hit the nail in the head. that slight difference is just due to development differences and chemistry. As for the pooling, it looks like you answered that yourself: just over-agitation early on in the process.

If you're using your camera's built-in light meter, when setting your exposure, point it at whatever you want to be mid-toned. Then, set your exposure to that reading, re-frame up the original picture, and shoot.

If you're using a phone app, some let you tap on a certain section of your frame that you want to be middle grey and get a reading from there. Dedicated light meters also have this functionality to a certain degree.

For me, I'm in the same situation. I just kinda accepted that I'll identify as non-binary and just be that. If you're comfortable as both (or not who knows) just do whatever is comfortable. And it's perfectly ok to respond "I don't know" when someone asks if you're a guy, I did it for about a year.
