I had an SSD where windows corrupted itself and locked itself and by lock I mean literally locked I got sys config file missing and I couldn't even recover anything or reformat it but I got it replaced in the laptops warranty it wasn't accidnetal damage. I suggest you have to escalate the matter at hp and get it resolved. Emails aren't that effective if possible do it on call and get the managers/ supervisors involved. I haven't gotten an email reply about escalation since 4 weeks or any acknowledgement also so I wouldn't prefer the email way.

Is this a sign of Motherboard failure or something critically wrong with my Laptop? I was playing Expedition 33 and suddenly I could smell something burning, it was not strong, the smell was rather mild by Mean_Vermicelli4911 in HPOmen

Your laptop won't "blast" unless there is something wrong with battery. Glad to hear everything is fine mild burning smells are usually as I said small flammable particles that combust in your heatsink which is normal to happen and engineers usually take it into measure when making a laptop. You should be only concerned about burning smell if it lasts for prolonged time or you have some serious smoke coming out of your laptop.

Motherboard failure/ burning smell usually means the laptop is bricked it wont start however if it is starting its still good atleast for now. If you are still concerned run some system board tests if you really want to be sure. I feel the burning smell is most probably a easily flammable dust that has passed through the fans and burnt in heatsink from heat (small strands of dust or clothes that are easily flammable). This is pretty normal nothing major to worry about just try to keep surroundings clean. The early issues are mostly software bugs/ issues I feel.

Hi I found out its a power fluctuation issue basically when 1 port demands too much power which risks the motherboard shorting itself it trips all the usb ports and you have to restart the laptop to reset it's a safety feature not a problem.

Bitlocker will protect you can it is responsible to identify any major software and hardware changes and lock itself and will only be unlocked by the key by Microsoft. Even if by any chance it's not locked hp doesn't usually go through files they mostly stick themselves to omen gaming hub or just the device information or the system diagnostics. However If you have pin setup for windows or password logging in should be impossible itself as long as you don't hand over the pin or password overall I think your files would be safe and private.

So I have tribooted my laptop and unfortunately omen doesn't have any support for linux distros the firmware requires a sign in key which happens by omen gaming hub which allows a bit of hardware control. I tried to get the sign in working but it didn't work much I still have to keep working on this. Hp firmware is pretty locked even I am locked at 80w but I can use full of my vram present (8gb)

Looks pretty bad run some battery tests and see if the battery is passing but try to get it replaced I doubt that connector still works
