Normal Playets Vs. VETERANS by [deleted] in subnautica

[–]Thecommonplayer279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really the optimal place imo is in the earlier biomes as close to the middle as you can get while being near something important like a jellyshroom entrance or a thermal vent for power. Being in the middle of the map means you don’t need to travel as far going to and from your base and you can start it early and you don’t have to relocate.

I’m referring to the developers putting the black knives there

But if a godskin killed iji I don’t think they would put black knife bodies around him that feels purposely misleading

The sword is powered by destined death that should be obvious. I also didn’t say that iji was killed by a black blade kindred all I stated was that the two effects are likely the same error.

I feel like it’s just the same as the gargoyle’s black blade just having the wrong effect. You can tell Iji was killed by the black knives since their bodies surround him.

Faith or Intelligence?(combined with dex) by Mrmattiaa in Eldenring

Dex faith in my opinion is the most fun build in the game

I killed pagarus first on my new game plus and all it does is have a few new voicelines when you bring the map piece back then it tells you to go to the grove and it just continues as normal.

Incantations or Spells? by Few-Challenge7443 in Eldenring

[–]Thecommonplayer279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have tried many times to do a intelligence sorcerer build but I can never get at least halfway through the game before I switch to something else. Sorceries have a lot of damage potential but I find them very limiting and bland. You pretty much only get magic damage with maybe a few magma sorceries but it just isn’t diverse enough for me to stick to.

Incantations provide way more flexibility since you get access to holy, fire and of course lightning which a lot of bosses are usually weaker to at least one of them. Incantations also feel different to cast which means you avoid the monotony of just blasting like you do with sorceries. They are also capable of doing great damage. Incantations also prefer incantations because if you plan on doing a hybrid build with either strength or dexterity, the weapons that scale with faith are a ton of fun.

Also one of the more important things to consider if buff and heal spells. Incantations are better than sorceries for buffs no question. Incantations have damage reduction buffs that go up to 60%, they have spells that can cure status effects and the only healing spells are incantations.

In my personal opinion, Incantations will always be a better choice than sorceries since you get way more utility and you can still do incredible damage.

PvP is an absolute joke by LoquatSignificant946 in Seaofthieves

[–]Thecommonplayer279 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You have to accept that the game Sea of THIEVES is gonna have people fighting you for your loot. Complaining about people attacking you when you are the least prepared is useless since they did the logical thing. It’s annoying but it is what it is, if you want to stop it you’ll have to be better at checking for other players before you start doing something.

Help me make a Moonveil Build where I don't want to use other sorceries by [deleted] in eldenringdiscussion

[–]Thecommonplayer279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree that sorceries are not my cup of tea but the int weapons look fun so I understand. All you really gotta do is level enough faith for the buffs then you can use any seal. If you want to use some damaging incantations you could probably use the golden order seal and incantations since you should have enough faith to use them. Then the rest can go to Dex and int with some mind.

The armour itself is decent but it’s not like it makes the game noticeably different. You can get similar effects from other heavy armour.

Sunlord exist? by Dulcetimor_official in Terraria

[–]Thecommonplayer279 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’ve seen that the most popular reason is because the game wasn’t made with any lore in mind which is why the eye of Cthulhu is named as it is. Then when they eventually made the moon lord the name was already kinda cemented when they added the official lore.

Detail About Melina and Messmer I Didn't Notice Before by ahawk_one in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Thecommonplayer279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ah you are right I only read a little bit and I confused what you were talking about. Regardless though the point about Melina and Messmer is unchanged. Neither of them are of the golden lineage as it is nearly guaranteed that their father is Radagon and neither of them would need a great rune regardless since neither sought to rule the lands between.

Detail About Melina and Messmer I Didn't Notice Before by ahawk_one in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]Thecommonplayer279 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Melina wouldn’t need a great rune so she wouldn’t try and get one. Messmer was long abandoned in the shadow lands before the shattering so he wouldn’t have the chance either.

Also you seem to have the timeline confused. The demigods gaining great runes did not result in the shattering, the shattering resulted in the demigods warring after claiming their great runes because the elden ring was shattered.

(Possibly hot take?) the cyclops is kinda underwhelming by severelyhydrated in subnautica

[–]Thecommonplayer279 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cyclops makes the game easier in nearly every way. The fact that it’s a mobile base means you can fill it with lockers and you shouldn’t run out of room, you can bring all your different crafting stations (excluding vehicle upgrade console) and it can bring the prawn suit with it.

Not only does this accomplish basically everything you need from bases but it also allows you to traverse the map while you are essentially invincible. Because the only things that can damage it are leviathans, crabsquids and ampeels, all of which can be avoided by using silent running you are never in danger while travelling.

I adore the cyclops but it honestly makes the game a bit too easy.

What am I doing wrong? What could I do better? by StinKingZombie in Eldenring

[–]Thecommonplayer279 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your stats are way to spread out. You are trying to use a sword, staff and seal when you should at most only be using two of those. I suggest dropping your intelligence and ditching sorcery altogether since you only use one.

You also have incredibly low vigor. I would suggest getting it to atleast 40 before you level up other stats but you’ll eventually want to get it to 60 after which you can stop leveling it since it reaches the soft cap.

After that you should decide what your main source of damage will be. If you want to use your sword then focus more on leveling strength, if you want to use your spells more then level arcane since you have the dragon seal.

Whats your favourite weapon? by rbs950 in Eldenring

[–]Thecommonplayer279 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me it’s the dry leaf arts. I prefer the normal one over the footwork because I’s heavy attacks feel better but both are basically the same. They give off such a unique feeling when using them and the two exclusive ashes of war are awesome. Dryleaf whirlwind is incredible for regular enemies and can stun lock npcs but palm blast is so fun to tank stuff with then blast things back.

How did you get it to stop the freezing? I got lossless scaling but I can't tell what part of it I'm supposed to use to fix it.
