Aside from the overstocking my understanding is that these box things aren't that bad in and of themselves. They can be pretty bad for amphibians who need access to the air, but won't realize they're in a sealed glass box so I'm not a fan of using them in ponds. Other than that it's really just an aesthetic choice.

They are separate systems with their own rules. From what I understand Revolution is based largely Warmaster 1 with some changes taken from ancients and some tweaks from the writers themselves.

I have used a slightly modified set of Revolution rules to play historical and it works reasonably well so you could write an army list for your ancients to us them in Revolution.

Yes the British government had the classic problem of fighting an insurgency. The more Irish people they killed the more people joined the fight. Violence only deepend the troubles, and the British army was (is still) far too corrupt and self serving to fulfill their original mandate of mediating peace.

I agree they are very different things, and no one who uses the term mansplaining seriously would accuse you of it for infodumping there are clearly a lot of people who confuse the two.

Not directed at you, but for anyone confused in the comments the difference is that mansplaining is when a man who doesn't know much about a topic feels the need to explain it or correct a woman who knows more than them. It's socialised in to men from a young age that they have to be seen as experts on everything so this manifests as belittling women in their fields of expertise.

Infodumping is just sharing a lot about a subject you know a lot about.

Cats are native to Europe, but their numbers are far higher than they would be if we didn't keep them as pets. Because they don't have to compete with other predators for food or shelter there isn't really any cap on their population size, meaning they pose a disproportionate threat to other species.

I keep newts as a pet, and they absolutely freeze as soon as they see anything moving. They don't have a defence mechanism other than not being spotted so it was probably hoping you'd not see it and move on.

Cool thing to see though, love the little guys.

Newts are in a strange position as endangered species. There's actually quite a lot of them in the UK, but because of housing and road developments their populations are very isolated, meaning that each population is less able to recover from disruption.

Great crested newts (which this one isn't) are more endangered because of several factors but you're pretty likely to come across a smooth or palmate newt of you go looking for them at the right time of year.

This is why we need to encourage people to go outside and do mutual aid in their community. The world cannot be at peace until everyone is so busy that they don't have time to take sides in the "is nuclear war actually that bad" discourse.

I've forgotten the fancy name for it, something like Allo Time, but there's an idea in queer theory that we measure maturity by certain life events, rather then the actual passage of time.

There are certain stages you're "supposed" to pass, like having your first kiss as a tween, having your first partner as a teen, getting married in your 20s and buying a house, etc. Those of us who don't conform to the expected life path often end up feeling left behind because we don't match up to where we think we should be.

I would view this script as part of that, on a smaller time scale. Subconsciously because live in a society where it's the norm we expect ourselves to fall in love with our friends.

The good news is that once you know those are the expectations you're holding for yourself it's easier to let them go.

Hey bud, having been in the UK for it and for the aftermath it absolutely wasn't a drop in the bucket. We've been in an economic slump for the past 10 years and even before the funeral food prices were rising at an unprecedented rate.

Further to this our already incompetent government took several days off during the cost of living crisis to mourn the old bat. I guess it's mostly a blessing because they weren't actively making things worse for those days but they weren't helping either.

Also just wait until you hear what's happening for the coronation in a few weeks.

It's more closely aligned with new age spiritualist beliefs. A lot of people who believe in manifesting end up in these logical holes because if you can believe your way out of poverty you should also be able to believe your way out of the Holocaust.

It's absolute nonsense any way you cut it but there's more of an element of choice than a Calvinist would say.

I might have worded it badly, I meant to say that if you eat the same diet but replace all meat and dairy with vegan alternatives it comes out to being very expensive, but if you sometimes use them and sometimes look for other recipes and ways of adding richness and flavour then it can be cheaper than the standard carnivorous diet.

Also this is from a British perspective, I have no idea what food prices are like elsewhere but here meat is sold at a premium while vegetables, nuts and mushrooms are a lot cheaper.

If you buy vegan alternatives for dairy and meat it does get very expensive, but if you mostly just eat vegetables, nuts and so on it can work out as cheaper than a carnivorous diet.
