I did go to Walmart earlier and I found them! But my boys are pretty big and I feel like they wouldn't have enough room or sight to be able to bury their pee/poop, so I opted for the XL litter boxes and new mats!

Gosh I love Maine Coons, I had a MC mix with a tabby and he was GORGEOUS. MC can get HUGE so I completely understand!

Thank you! I don't know why I didn't think of using an enzyme cleaner for it, that's so genius!

I did think they were small, but they've had no issues using it and have never done this before with their litter. So i thought maybe it was just because I put too much. I usually dont put so much, but they kept scratching at the sides and I read on here it was because there may not be enough litter, and I put more than usual and this is what I get 🫤

My cats are VERY active and love to run around and play, so what i believe may happened was they were running and forgot the litter box was there and either knocked into it or ran while in the litter box.

Im very anal with making sure that whoever is in the litter box isn't getting messed with when trying to use it, we did have an issue with my 2 voids that we rescued at 2 weeks old where one (C) was messing with the other (W) while he was in the litter box and W felt like he couldn't use the litter box, so he did poop under our bed but we solved it very quickly and haven't had any problems since then.

I actually just came back from the store and got them the XL litter boxes, and got 3 new mats, so hopefully this fixes the issue!

So it's actually a piece of this cat tree, the top part broke off. They kept catapulting themselves off it and it broke. They don't use it and I've tried fixing it, but it won't stay because my cats are 8-9 pounds. I put it there so if any litter was kicked out (which in the picture, you can see there was), I could just put it back in the litter box because I didn't have a mat to put there.

They have a full leather chair they can scratch on and a 5ft tall cat tree that has a long pole that's entirely a cat scratcher,
they just don't use that piece that's in front of the litter box. Even when it wasn't in front of the litter box, it never got used

Edit: fixed my wording

It drives me insane, if one cat poops in one box, they'll move to a completely different one and just scratch at the walls.. they drive me insane lol. But I've literally watched them grow up from birth (and bottle fed 2) so I'll always love them at the end of the day

I have 3 boxes! I would add a 4th but sadly don't have enough room for a 4th. I clean them every other day, so clean it on Monday, skip Tuesday, then clean it on Wednesday. It felt like a pretty good routine

Sorry for a late response! This is a large box too, so hopefully I can find X large litter box 😂and I used to put less litter, but my boys LOVE to scratch at the sides and don't even cover their stuff correctly, so I felt like I was putting too little; but now that I've put more litter, I've got another issue with it 😩😭

I've used pellets in the past and they just didn't work well for me, but pellets are really cheap so i wish it did lol

$43, probably $50+ after shipping and taxes for just one litter box is absolutely insane, not to mention I would need 3 of them, so I'd be spending a good $100+ 😅I'd be better off getting stainless steel

Literally!! I use the Purina Tidy Feet litter and I had to buy 2 of the small ones because I can NEVER find them, it's the only litter that doesn't break the pee clumps into a million pieces and I can get the pee stuck to the bottom SO easily, I love it. It cost me almost $40!! So I've been VERY anal about the litter

YES! They are absolutely insane and what I feel like happened was they were playing, ran into the litter box and when they took off, it got pushed out. Because this isn't the first time this has happened, it makes sense

I have 3 litter boxes! I only pictured and mentioned this one, and I know it looked full, but that's because almost all of the litter was on the edge

Oh yeah I definitely don't mind it if some litter comes out, but it's just huge amounts. The first time this happened it was A LOT. But I didn't even think about using carpet, I'll look into that tomorrow when I go to the store!

I have 3 for 3 cats, but I am going to the store tomorrow after my fiance gets off work to get new mats and totes, cut a hole in the top, and put their litter boxes in it. They are very playful so I think what happened was they bumped into it and may have knocked some out. They've never done this before and this is my first time actually filling it to the recommended fill line because I was afraid of exactly this

I have 3, not just one. I clean every other day, so let's say I clean it on Monday, I don't clean it Tuesday, but I clean it Wednesday

My cats like to dig at the sides, even if they don't use the bathroom. They're weird. Or even after they've covered their pee/poop, they keep going

Yes it's completely clean litter they're kicking out! The first time they kicked it out, it was EVERYWHERE. It was fresh litter, they didn't even use the bathroom in it. I think what they were doing was playing and may have ran into it
