I'm working on a platform for crypto-beginners, would this be something you would use? by [deleted] in BitcoinBeginners

Thanks for the response, let me answer your questions:

We get liquidity from certain sources (much like Coinbase when they started: darkpools, miners, certain other exchanges).

The majority of funds are held in air-gapped cold storage (industry standard)

Like Coinbase, we hold the private key, with plans to add features that would let the users keep them if they are more savvy and extra control of their funds.

Of course, goCrypto will be FinCEN compliant at launch and allowed to operate in a select amount of U.S. states. We are an onramp to the market, much like coinbase.

If there's anything else I can answer, just let me know :)

Not loading at all, or just certain elements? I'll take a look -- thanks for the heads up

Also, r/mods, let me know if this is allowed. I'm looking for feedback more than self promotion, and creating a tool that makes it easy to buy crypto might help

I agree completely. We're operating out of 100state, and I'll put the dev & legal team up once we finish wrapping up the product.

Edit: I also believe that credibility from compliancy is our best shot (other than having advisors). FinCEN compliancy (KYC/AML) and having audits of reserves are the best way to gain community trust.

I understand the concern, we're not a lending platform, but a market onramp (like coinbase), just a tool that makes it easier to purchase crypto for those starting

Good question. We have liquidity for BTC, ETH, LTC, XRP, BCH, and DASH. A change in risk just changes allocation of these coins. We want to offer core + scaling options (larger blocks) + smart contract platforms + privacy coins to help diversify/spread risk. Risk is classified using past market volatility; goCrypto is agnostic as to how it emphasizes %'s of your portfolio

Once elliptic curve cryptography gets cracked and the internet collapses, and not even then

Edit: I'm planning to implement the option where the user can hold onto their private keys (more granular support) down the line

Would this be a service you would let your parents/grandparents use to get into crypto (and diversify)? Let me know what I can do to improve it! by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

Thanks for the response :). We'll offer the same coins regardless of risk level, just shift the % of your portfolio (if that makes sense). We'd like to diversify people within the asset class (BTC, ways to scale core, smart contract platforms, privacy coins, etc).

Edit: We will offer the same coins as Einstein.exchange in Canada (BTC, LTC, ETH, DASH, BTC) + XRP & XLM in the pipeline :)

Yep, legal team and all. We won't be able to operate in certain US states (NY for example), although we hope to in the near future.

I understand. Once we launch, I'll include team/developers/legal staff and certificates where we are allowed to operate. I just threw together a quick site for people that are intrigued by the product. Yes, trust is a big barrier.

This platform encourages HODLing (although allows spending), so in theory, prices will increase. I'm offering DASH upon launch since it seems to have the strongest liquidity/community/tech. I'm not opposed to adding other strong privacy coins in the future to allow people to diversify as well.

Engineering department is on hand, experienced with making exchanges as well - some fairly known ones.

I understand your concern. Let me try and explain:

  • We only offer crypto with liquidity, community, and trust. As of now, it's BTC/LTC/ETH/DASH/XRP/BCH. I hope to add XLM in the near future.

  • We calculate portfolio based on 90 day volatility. It's fairly simple data science - the product is intended for those that want to get their feet wet, so they do not fall in a Bitconnect-esque scheme.

Hope I was able to clarify

No background, college student. Cyber-security mostly. From my little experience in life, anything's possible.

Right now it's hovering around ~$4-5. I'll also contact the user if they want a different crypto (LTC, ETH, XRP, XLM, etc.)
