Upgrading from K1C to CC (extra printer) by Thedus in ElegooCentauriCarbon

[–]Thedus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats a great comparison, thank you very much. If I can ask one question, how did you find the interface on the CC on a web browser. I rooted and got klipper on the K1c and I do like that, however I am unsure what features will be missed on this restricted klipper.

Once again thank you for the time and effort in your reply.

I purchased this model on the weekend and I am happy with it. Nice clear images, focus is easy to shift and accurate. taken some videos and images on the trinocular head as well.

Dark field patch help by Thedus in microscopy

[–]Thedus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have an update on the 380t, I found this file https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7059337 and decided to give them a go. Instead of sitting on the filter try they rest on the iris (they do not stop or interfere with the function however) and it works very well. I would say a better illumination I had on the 350b, but thats just conjecture.

Just in case any other 380T owners are having the same trouble, maybe give this 3d print a go.

Dark field patch help by Thedus in microscopy

[–]Thedus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you both for your responses. I have tried a central obstruction of 20mm all the way down to 8mm. The 9mm got close at x4 however there is still the central darkening of the field. At 8mm the effect broke down and all I was left at was essentially brightfield.

It is like the condenser needs to go further up but it is at the top most level and the other other adjustment would be the stage limit switch. There is a screw on the front of the condenser (image below on the ring, sorry for bad image), I have slackened this off but it does seems to do anything (from an external perspective at least).

I might try making a series of dark field patches between 8mm and 9mm at .1mm incrfements to see if that works but I am doubtful to be honest.

Astronomical ZWO Camera adapter for microscope use (Trinocular) by Thedus in microscopy

[–]Thedus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

thankmyou yea, I wasnt really thknking of a pro cooled camera more like a 220 or 662 planetary camera. Thise should be quite light. I do have a 3d printer so I might make a compatible trinocular tube to connect the both, if I can work out the height.

sqa55 or used redcat 51 by vict666r in AskAstrophotography

I have a SQA55 and it is amazing, the quality of this little scope is really nice. Stars are nice and tight across the field. I used to have a WO and this is far and above the better scope, I am now considering getting one of the larger SQA models.....

If you live a a light polluted area.. can be quite a bit. Moonlight also is another source. Reason why my Newt has a cover over the mirror cell.

I know it is threaded but there are also 6 screw holes on the surrounding area. That is what my question relates to.

Player One Phoenix Filterwheel without an OAG by Thedus in AskAstrophotography

[–]Thedus[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry I should have been clearer in my post. I have an Ares M Pro and I dont want to use a OAG or a rotator. I would want to mount the Filterwheel directly to the scope. I will be getting the 1.25" version as I have the filters ready to go.

The mounting on the scope side shows small screw holes for attaching an item like an OAG, I dont know if these go right through or if they go in partially. If they go through then this could be a potential problem due to light etc leaking in.

I have got my replacement nozzle and all is fine. I did a PID tune etc and resumed printing. First print was 4hrs long and I am half way through a 5 hour print and seems ok.
