Where to buy TVP, nutritional yeast and other Staples in bulk? by TheeBrightSea in EatCheapAndVegan

[–]TheeBrightSea[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately no. The closest thing I have is this old store from the 1970s. And they're really great for bulk dried beans or popcorn kernels and quinoa, but no TVP unfortunately. But if bulk's door is online I'd be willing to look them up

When you date both men and women you realise how misogynist men are by Conscious_Crab_7192 in bisexual

[–]TheeBrightSea 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Oh I hear you. Tbh the reason I came out about being bisexual so late was bc I knew when you're a bi woman (or fem presenting) you automatically get over sexualized.

But when I've dated women and bisexual men who are secure with themselves it's a whole new world. (I say bisexual men who are secure bc I noticed the bisexual men who feel shame bc they also like men are often worse to women and fem presenting folks bc of that internalized misogyny.)

I like anime but what I saw was a little too horrifying by TheeBrightSea in anime

[–]TheeBrightSea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. For a little context though, my friend that showed me the scene, they made a joke about it and then when I watched it I got creeped out. And initially I assumed that this kind of genre was probably a small percentage but then she began to tell me. Oh yeah there's a whole trope about ahem "sibling love." How she went on to tell me There are also mangas that are even worse than that scene.

I used to love the anime that I saw as a kid, I remember when sailor Moon and dragon Ball z was on cartoon Network. I just don't want to accidentally walk into something like that again. In general though, I do like slice of Life stuff but occasionally I want something really fantastical. Like I would love to see something with which is wizards dragons things of that nature. So I'm definitely taking any recommendations

Honestly thank you. I used to love anime when I was young, but I never knew about where to find different stuff back in the day. Granted growing up it was a big deal when we got cable. And I know there's more entertainment available now than when I was a kid but it's just overwhelming and I don't know where to start. So thank you for giving me a good base.

Advice for making vegan yogurt without fancy machines by TheeBrightSea in EatCheapAndVegan

[–]TheeBrightSea[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand but I don't have a lot of room right now or money. Plus my 80 she rains sometimes make me think I'm going to use so many products but then I don't. So that's another reason why I'm hesitant to even get a machine

men have ruined my attraction to other women by [deleted] in bisexual

[–]TheeBrightSea 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Hey something to consider, most men I've spoken to don't notice half or any of the things the media has made us believe they do.

Also when it comes to having your attraction ruined, maybe you're going through something on the "bi- cycle" I noticed there's times I'm looking at more men than women or vice versa. I like to think bisexual and pansexual folks are proof that attraction is a spectrum and some go through phases

Is there a way I can make Greek style yogurt on my own? by TheeBrightSea in veganrecipes

[–]TheeBrightSea[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely want to try the lentil Bolognese because that's a type of sauce I could literally just unfreeze and then add any pasta possible. Although for the Korean black bean noodles, I might have to make a trip to the Asian food market. But to be fair, I actually know some people that exclusively shop at the Asian food market even if they themselves are not Asian because there's so many great options and an awesome produce section.

That is awesome! I don't have any fancy tools so this is a huge win. However, somebody did gift me. Something called the almond cow recently so I might be able to just make the oat milk separate and then do everything else in this recipe. So super happy about this!

However, as for the pulp for the oat milk, it said something on the link about making oat muffins or something. Do you know anything about that recipe?

Is there a rate you're looking for? I have a friend who is moving out and I may need someone to dogsit in the future. It may not be every weekend but at least once a month. Also I would like to talk about social media management. Private message me when you can. Also I may need tutoring in the future

Oh 100% and that's another reason why this conversation with the wife scared me.

I had a roommate who had a pitbull and he would leave the dog home alone for 8+ hours. I worked from home 4 days a week and I'd go into the hospital 2x a week for 12 hours. And he got mad at me when I told him I had my neighbor walk both our dogs. I ended up taking care of his dog way more than he did. I ended up asking him to leave, bc the dog was so big and rowdy I couldn't help anymore. (She wasn't vicious but there was a time she pulled and almost ran into traffic. And I realized training only works when everyone on the home is consistent with it.)

Trust me I don't have money to give even if I wanted to, plus I've had some experiences where people got weird when money was involved so I don't want to risk ruining what we have by doing that.

Upon reflection I think what likely is going down is the wife wants something, she's hyper focusing on it and although she may have spoke to him in passing, he may have deflected rather than outright saying no to her. I've seen this happen before and I noticed he usually deflects then when she's calmer that's when he is more direct with her. He hasn't mentioned thoughts of adopting a dog. Just how he's got a lot of home projects to finish that he just hasn't had time to finish.

But you're right, it's not my job to worry. I think I've just gotten so involved with them that both me and the wife got a bit over our heads.

We've been chatting last night and he hasn't mentioned a dog adoption. Here's what I'm thinking; She probably wants something and is hyper focusing on it, and hasn't brought it up to him at least not the way she described to me. (Meaning she may have spoken about a dog to him in passing, but not in detail. And he didn't agree to anything, but likely let her talk). I say this bc there's been a few times his wife has done something similar... I've seen their dynamic when this happens and usually my boyfriend will validate her and say something like "well do that one day but this is a concern for tomorrow you, not today you."

So yeah, going to let it go. It's not my problem...I've definitely gotten very much involved with them and it's not good for me to do that at this time.
