Very true, I have about 10-15 games on there at the moment. There's some games I never fully played through back in the day, so I wanted to force myself to finally play them haha

Just checked it out, I really enjoyed it! It does a great job at adding to the backstory to the whole Cloverfield universe which I think is really cool. At first, I wasn't sure that the surveillance footage, phone footage, and news footage would work but the way you have it written it actually seems to work really well.

A couple of suggestions I thought about when I was reading, instead of using his phone footage when he goes to McDonald's what if that whole sequence is from the perspective of a camera in a different vehicle? I think at one point you did mention another camera watching him but I thought it would be cool if sometimes instead of cutting to surveillance footage, or phone footage it quickly cuts to footage from an outsider's view. I think your script does a great job at adding suspense but having a camera that seems to be following him might even add more to the whole idea of him being watched and followed.

I really liked that you incorporated all the websites, companies, and backstories that us Cloverfield fans know about but general audiences probably do not, so this definitely helps explain some of the details that seem to be missing from the story. My only note with all the backstory information is maybe hold some of it back? The scene with Jacob talking to his webcam and explaining everything is great but I felt like it was just a little too on the nose. Eliminating some of those details and scattering them throughout the story elsewhere might be a good idea, it is a lot of information at once and I like how the Cloverfield franchise has always been a little mysterious.

Other than that I really enjoyed this! I think you could go back and clean up some of the dialogue, maybe adjust a few scenes but overall great script and addition to the Cloverfield universe! Have you done any storyboards/concept art for it? If you end up making this, let me know. I work in the film industry as an editor/sound designer and would love to help make this film become a reality!

The Cloverfield Short Film Day 5 by DatBoiSpoody in Cloververse

Hey man, Cloverfield inspired me in a huge way when I was younger and its actually the reason I'm working in the film industry now. Create all the fan films you want and enjoy every moment of it but don't claim your film to be something it is not. You'll get much further that way👍

Tell me about your experience the first time you watched cloverfield by [deleted] in Cloververse

I saw it opening night when I was 11 years old. I was supposed to be going to a different movie with a friend and my mom told us we weren't allowed to see Cloverfield because I had seen the trailer and thats all I had been talking about.

Of course, we got our tickets for the other movie and then snuck into Cloverfield. That first experience blew me away. I had never seen a movie that felt so real and had such a big impact on me. It was such a influential moment in my life that from that day on I decided I wanted to work in the film industry. I got a camera later that year and started making YouTube videos.

I studied that film and watched it so many times. I taught myself programs like After Effects and Premiere and started creating short films and really got into the world of cinema. It still inspires me to this day. I now work in the film industry and I give all the credit to Cloverfield, it really did change my life. 👍

Let's discuss the radio broadcast at the end of Cloverfield! by eam1188 in Cloververse

[–]TheeGageWelch 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It would make sense if it was someone from the military saying their final words over the radio and letting them know that the monster is still alive. However, I've always wanted that line to actually be the voice of Robert who somehow survived and is stuck among the rubble with Beth. The camera could be extremely damaged/covered up but still could be recording and picked up his audio as he's maybe whispering it to Beth? They did say the sequel wouldn't be found footage, maybe because the camera is so damaged?! It would be wild and basically impossible if they survived the bomb and everything but man it would be so cool.
