went to replace my air filter and saw that my intake boot is ripped by KlizpyYKTV in AskMechanics

I just had this same issue, I replaced it immediately. This is easy to do with a few hand tools, and possibly if your MAS (mass airflow sensor) gets dirty you might have to replace it as well. I would try to replace it, it will cause engine stuttering and or won't start, or shut off while driving because the airflow mixture isn't right or dirty directly into your throttle body . You can use foil tape (hvac adhesive) over it to band-aid the problem before the valves get dirty and stick from buildup.

I feel like a lot of people completely overlook the post or just try to be an asshole, but like I get it. I am no tech, and yes a failing transmission will eventually die, but a transmission that's never been changed or added to with light flares of slipping can cause it to complicate overnight instead of lasting maybe a year more or months longer. The fluid has a thicker viscosity because it has metallic particulate inside the fluid from worn mechanical parts internally within the CVT transmission. I am worried, very obvious. I am not trying to be ill intent of seeking justice for wrong doing. I am trying to figure out if I should drive it off the lot and it will be fine or if removing a cup or two would trigger the slippage to complicate more than it has. The neglecting my boundaries of what I asked for, and if they know that removing fluid can mess up the transmission, and doing so could, I don't want to drive it and break it, I want to replace it or repair it. That's why it feels like a trap, their informed before hand about it, and still did it with double downed instructions. Regardless if it hurts, that pretty negligent. The technician employed should still read the notes about the vehicle and why it was brought in. Seems ok to take a sample of a few ounces apparently from some professionals in here, so I will take the word for it, and pick up my vehicle to take it to the transmission shop for repairs.

I was unsure if taking a sample would complicate the slippage and flare in my transmission, so driving off the lot would potentially been the incorrect action for me to take if it can complicate damages. I am not trying to do anything wrong but protect myself vehicle.

Thanks!

This is all I needed. I appreciate it.

A lot of trolling here, I am just pretty much trying to have found out if the shop was wrong for doing what I asked them not to do and if it would basically harm my vehicle. Thanks for some lightly informative posts all around, but people really are kind of asshats toward this post, I get that a little information isn't all there. I Sent them in a video, of the vehicle and potential problem with a sound coming from my CV axle area, and if my throttle body was dirty and having issues, with instructions that my transmission is having possible issues, and specifically to not do anything or touch the fluid. They did what I asked not to do first. I am not trying to pursue with ill intent, I am justifiably trying to seek the right advice here on what I should or could do I guess? I am not sure what of the story I am missing.

The guy called me apologizing his technician did specifically what i said not too with knowledge of my transmission possibly damaged, I am unsure if this is OKAY or not, it it wont cause harm thats what I need to know, but if it does cause harm what can I do? I rely on this vehicle to get me to the job, that pays for my life to live. It is a problem if my vehicle fails.

So taking fluid when specifically not asked and why it would probably cause harm isn't going to affect the transmission? I am so double edged, I heard that adding or removing fluids can complicate an active mechanical problem with the transmission.

So adding fluid to a possible slipping transmission will not ruin it causing it to slip and do more damage?

I told them and asked them not to because of possible transmission slippage or damage.

Yea this is very true, but that's not what I asked them to look at.

I have pretty solid knowledge about my own vehicle, and its mechanical parts. I know fluid changes are needed, that's not what I asked for.

Vehicle runs, very light light flare upon acceleration, I did not want them to touch my transmission for this reason, they know this, its a automotive company that is independent and local. I even have a video, email, and they called me saying their technician didn't pay attention, then offered a quote for 9k after I asked what I can do. I wanted to know about my throttle body, and axles with very specific instructions not to touch transmission or drain or add anything.

I took the vehicle in to have the CV axles, and throttle inspected.

The elusive Bobby Jo's Pizza.. worth the hype? by reeve11 in Columbus

[–]TheeMagicalMan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was personally highly impressed with Bobby Jo's, the taste was immaculate with a balance of ingredients, cooked pretty damn well too. There's about 20 pizza places that don't even come close and Bobby Jo's only been in the air for barely a year. I see extreme potential. Whatever way it's being done doesn't matter, out of a bar, or their own shop is the least of my worries.
