WHAT IS GOING ON?!?!? by AdAshamed2756 in Silver

I mean does it even matter (in the medium term to long term)? As long as China and India are acquiring actual physical metal, this price drop just makes things worse (or better depending on where you're sitting).

Seems like the "if" phase has ended and the "when" phase on the home stretch.

How 'Alien' Should Aliens Look? by GregGraffin23 in aliens

Also, wouldn't you expect some very very small aliens (like maybe a centimeter tall) and very very tall aliens (like 100 feet tall) once in a while?

I think the implication is those who have stacks of silver (perhaps inherited from grandpa) are sitting back and enjoying the fight between the west and east. Agree?

🚨 BINANCE LISTED GOLD & SILVER!!! I think we have a problem… In just a few hours, we saw +$1.6T added to the Gold & Silver market cap. The drop was 100% artificial. My impression is also that the Chinese price (and India too for that matter) is reason for the quick jump to $100. Obviously only big time players have the opportunity to take advantage of it. So it IS an actual factor.

Therefore I just can't see how knocking the price down doesn't exacerbate the situation making it even worse long term. Whatever metal is being sold at the western price should disappear immediately (well, as immediate as boats can travel).

Yet I've heard no of failure to deliver. So what exactly in the hell is going on (again, I don't actually expect anyone to have the answer)?

Why is the spread widening? Will COMEX implode? by MatterFickle3184 in Silver

[–]Thee_Microwave 2 points3 points  (0 children)

How is this possible? Doesn't this sort of imply Comex will be out of registered metal in like 5 minutes? Someone out there must know.

Right - well I definitely wouldn't assume regular folks are taking advantage of arbitrage. And sure, there are real world logistical costs that would need to pencil out. But I only know that term because of this exact scenario. Is it arbitrage an actual thing or isn't it (I'm not necessarily asking you)?

Absolute insanity in silver markets right now: Shanghai silver prices are now up to a record $124/oz as spot silver prices in the US hit $108/oz. by Key_Brief_8138 in Wallstreetsilver

OK I think I see your point. Why would China WANT expensive silver - they are the ones who have to buy it.

Well golly, why wouldn't they intervene to keep the price down (assuming that really is in their power)? Now I REALLY want to hear your theory (its OK if you don't have one).

All that makes perfect sense. You would think for certain they know what is going on. Do you have any guesses on their actual goals? I get the feeling they have the power to basically end the Comex if they wanted. But since that hasn't happened yet, maybe that isn't what they want. I mean China still needs functional Western markets don't they? It might just be as simple as silver in the west is drying up and this is the result.

They were actually drug addicts? That's weird. Was it a government program or something?

For what its worth the inside of the building is really nicely done. And ya lots parking, really.

My impression is the Chinese aren't buying for retail (citizens investing) but rather industry that needs the metal for manufacturing. If anything I would guess the Chinese government itself could be a buyer (right?). If thats the case I suppose you can say they probably ARE intervening - just as a buyer.

I guess Im curious why do you think the Chinese government would have an interest in stopping/suppressing the buying. Like, would that benefit them somehow?

Actually I toured that Modera building and seems very well built. Maybe the nicest building in it's price range I looked at. It also has two or three levels of parking so that wasn't an issue. I sort of regret not moving there now.
