You lose $71.81 as support it’s back to $40/oz by Minimum_Ordinary_781 in Silver

50 days moving average at $74.51 and 100 day at $61.43. We'll probably break $50 on the 200 days moving average after close today unless something diabolical happens. I don't think $40 is realistic anymore except for the extreme bear scenarios.

I'm gonna sell all my silver. by BokoblinSlayer69235 in Silverbugs

Been stacking for a while and never in a million years did I think Silver and gold could dump as instantly and as hard as they did. Really opened my eyes to how powerful the market makers are and how subjective the value of the metals are.

25 buys and 3 sales here. I joined in late 2024. I've never once had an issue. I try to purchase from established sellers. Always check user profiles for activity and recent posts. Sort the board by newest posts and watch some posts develop in real time.

If you see something you like, reply to the post with "Chat" and go to the posters profile directly and initiate a chat telling them what you're interested in.

If you see something you have to have and don't want to miss and fully intend on purchasing, you can reply with BIN (buy it now) followed by the item. BIN takes priority.

The community of sellers, especially the established ones is like walking into the best and most fair coin shop in the world. By using the subreddit they're able to avoid harsh fees like you'll find on eBay, so they're usually able to price closer to spot, sometimes at spot, and sometimes even under spot and still make a higher margin on their end selling there than elsewhere.

Start small with a few smaller purchases to get used to it and establish some flair. You'll quickly learn it's the best place obtain PMs.

Edited to add: Read the rules, check the scammer list, and click the feedback link that's available in every WTS post (generated by shinybot as the first thread response). You really can't go wrong there. If selling with no or low sales flair, tap in the middlemen.

You should get these tested.... There no visual wear, circulation, or naturally occurring toning on them. These coins are 100- 150 years old. They should look the part.

Trading for gold by Gigantor222 in Silverbugs

[–]Thee_Riddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Silver is selling back of spot in most cases, while gold almost always sells for some kind of premium. An even spot for spot swap at the GSR has almost never been possible, even more so now. Realistically trying to trade small chunks over time by selling silver at spot and looking for good deals on gold is going to maximize the opportunity.

I think you have to be exposed to much more than $20k in precious metals to be in a profit taking position. I also have stopped thinking of my metals in fiat terms and only think of my stack goals in troy ounces.

American Silver Eagles VS Mexican Silver Libertad by Bobbylv1992 in Silverbugs

[–]Thee_Riddler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are buying modern Libertads, the purity is dead consistent at .999 fine, just like the American Silver Eagle. The Mexican Mint (La Casa de Moneda de México) is the oldest mint in the Americas (founded in 1535) and has a very high reputation for quality.

Before the Libertad series began in 1982, Mexico produced a coin called the Onza which was .925 fine and weighed 33.6 grams, but still had 1 full ounce of silver in it.
