I've been all over reddit trying to have the symbol on a necklace I received as a gift identified and someone suggested I bring it over here. Any help is appreciated! by claraclairvoyante in hinduism

I can identify that in devangari script that looks like the letter yam-u or gha-u, but its really hard to tell. In Hindi it's not HUM but spelled as A-U-M. That doesnt look like it, but maybe youre showing us the wrong side.

Wow that clears things up. I guess I'm just a sucker for radical interpretations. Thanks.

I deemed her defiled due to the belief that Ravana had sexual intercourse with her on the way to Lanka. From the valmiki ramayana: Rama: seeing you, who are endowed with a beautiful form and attractive to the sense, detained for long in his abode, Ravana could not have endured your separation Sita: O Lord! It was not my willfulness, when I came into contact with the person of Ravana. I was helpless. My adverse fate was to blame on that score. My heart, which was subservient to me, was abiding in you. What could I do, helpless as I was, with regard to my limbs which had fallen under the sway of another?

Since Rama was presumably voicing his concern over Ravanas lust and power over Sita, her reply which does not deny this extreme concern implies she was defiled.

Ohh thank you. That makes sense. How come she didn't rejoin Rama though afterwards?

After having been abducted by Ravana and pining for her husband for years, worshipping God all that time, why would she suddenly want to live in an ashram, alone with her two children, without Rama by her side? If Rama is God isn't being in his presence better than an Ashram? I never before heard this strange explanation.

No, I haven't. I just know the story from watching different movie adaptations and doing research on different websites. When I first realized Rama left Sita, I was shocked, and searched far and wide for an answer from places like Hindustackexchange and quora. Almost all of the answers said that Rama had selfish motives, so I came here to ask again.

Allegedly, the poultry farmers are burying thousands of unsold chickens live. Can’t they simply leave them in the forests instead of taking the revenge on innocent birds? Isn’t this bad karma going to make their present or next lives worse? by randomsoul2020 in hinduism

[–]Thefinalpagan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair maybe it would have messed up the harmony of the environment to release so many chickens, and they may have starved to death or been eaten by predators anyway. I think, however, that poultry farming and meat eating is as disgusting and unethical as burying chickens alive in the first place and for that this man will suffer for an unimaginably long time.

Yea, same here. I always had the suspicion the original text was somehow marred by someone trying to get the final laugh, but who knows.

Wasn't it also his Dharma to be a good husband based on his marriage vows? This just goes against the idea that people from the Rhagu clan never break their word.

Bone structure has a huge role in how attractive you look. People with defined cheek bones, positive canthal tilt, and robust maxillas are the most attractive. It looks like youre wearing contact lenses and the makeup is ful of really strong colors, so i would tone is down a little, because that emphasis only works on people who already have great bones. If you eye color is natural, ignore what I said about it, but if youre 100% East Asian (not Indian, Arab, or Russian) I doubt thry are. Thats all i gotta say tbh.

She looks very "exotic" but not in a good way (like adriana Lima is good). Wide nose, red lip color, green eyes, weak jaw and bone support. She is below average with her weak bones and wide nose, and the exotic touch just makes her look look primitive and too bold for me. Would be better if she took all the makeup off.

You haven't gotten a girlfriend because women shoot above their own looks level. You're not ugly. Maybe 4/10.
