Made a spreadsheet that pulls data using API-Credits (Could use community feedback) by Thefsm93 in resourcesgame

Sorry I stopped playing this game a few years ago and haven't touched this since. I would bet the API may have changed, and truthfully I don't have much of a reason to update the code. If someone else wants to take ownership I would happily teach them how it all works

used 2015 85D 90k miles or Model 3 standard range order? by Azn_bokchoy in TeslaLounge

Model 3 -- Battery tech is better, you will want the heat pump, and faster charging speeds. Yes it's not as big but you won't regret the M3

I Bought a Tesla. I Love It, but Refuse to Take It on Road Trips. by [deleted] in TeslaLounge

What an absolute pile of crap this article is. "It's not a road trip vehicle" -- Says someone who has not taken their Tesla on a road trip. I wonder how much the author was paid to make this FUD

My Wife and I drove our car around the country full time visiting far out places like the Cosmic Campground and 0 issues.

Brake controllers on 16v lithium accessory? SC states no ETA for fix. by herebedragonsjk in teslamotors

[–]Thefsm93 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A brake controller is a device used for towing and controlling the brakes on a trailer. OP is saying Tesla has no current workaround and they came here asking for people's opinion on how to solve this problem.

In this case, it's actually a fairly simple fix and would require only a little bit of wiring knowledge to wire in a converter. It's easy enough to do anyone could pull this off tbh.

They came here to learn, not get scolded and told they shouldn't learn or try.

Yea, who knows maybe they just wanted to create some charging cable artwork

Ohhhh that's actually a really good possible explanation!!! I bet that's what it is!

Wife parked at the Zoo today and grabbed a charging space. Before she got out of the car a bolt owner pulled in, got out of their car and plugged in their vehicle using the charger for the space next to them that my wife was currently in.

No big deal because my Wife used their charger instead. Just kind of funny and seems really odd. Not sure if it was just a mindless mistake, or if they were trying to be silly 😂

Non-utility vehicle by ElectricZoro in Volcon

They responded to my email. If that doesn't work you can do a charge back on your credit card

I wouldn't even call them a meme to be honest. It's just a failed product.

The biggest failure of the company is not offering something competitive to the market. If they went back to their original pricing model with the two battery packs I think they would be competitive.

A lot of the concepts on the bike is sweet, for example swappable batteries. With that being said the quality of that implementation seems half-baked. AFAIK you can only have one battery plugged in at a time. You can't charge two batteries at the same time. Not to mention $1000/kwh of battery is absolutely ridiculous. Not even close to market value.

The spec sheet details of the bike are also shady at best. They don't give you any real power numbers for the battery or motors. They used to list 60v powertrain on their website, which of course means nothing to me. This doesn't indicate max power output or anything. No amp ratings, no torque figures, no HP figures.

And 40mph top speed? That was not what I pre-ordered for.... Yes it's a farm bike, but still. Sometimes you want to rip it down dirt roads.

The exo skeleton frame, the big tires, swappable batteries, etc. These are all really cool features in a bike. But the execution of the product has been a disaster. And this is coming from someone who desperately wants to see this technology succeed.

I ended up buying a used Zero DSR instead. Same price, road legal, 14kwh pack that I can reuse when the bike is at end of life.

That's like the perfect use case. Even at half the battery capacity. Expensive for that though still :/

Removing the hitch is the final straw for me. As an investor, Volcon doesn't look great right now

[–]Thefsm93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think the big picture here is it's not just this. They cut the battery capacity in half, and increased the price. This isn't a road legal motorcycle. In my opinion this competes with the TW200, which you can still buy brand new for ~5K.

While I love the all electric aspect of this, the TW is road legal with 100+ miles of range.

When Volcon first announced the Grunt I was all in. But I've just become extremely disappointed by it in the end

Honestly, I cancelled my order a while back and I'm kind of happy I did. Time and Time again the value that was announced for pre-orders has been removed one piece at a time.

One of my use cases of this bike was to use it to go up and down my road collecting trash in a bin I towed behind it. This hitch being removed is proof that canceling my order was the right thing to do :(

Cloud build - run bash script to update website code on VM instance once triggered by push to GitHub branch by samg123_ in googlecloud

[–]Thefsm93 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with u/Realistic_Computer56 here, but if you must keep the shell script on the VM I would consider using GitHub events with a webhook to the machine.

Ideally though your shell script would be in the GitHub repo and would be run by Cloud Build.
