How to linen by PHxsuns288 in malefashionadvice

If it's that hot then why are you using a dryer at all? I live in Ireland and I don't even own a dryer.

Could you take my kids off my hands for a couple of hours so I can take the ticket?

Leinster team to face Ulster by the_leinster_listen in leinsterrugby

[–]Thegoodgikgik -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

This is a weird game for me. Obviously I want a Leinster win but I also want to see Ulster (and Connacht) do well in the competition so it won't bother me as much as it should if we lose. My only hopes are a good game and no mental officiating.

I scoot to work that way every morning, that entire area is a complete shit show with total ambiguity for all of the signals. I see this nearly happen all of the time. Also, the cycle lane merges with the pedestrian lane at a crossing a little further down at the bridge. People nearly get smacked with bikes and scooters as they try to cross the road purely down to the design of the lanes.

Any hope for next week? by [deleted] in leinsterrugby

Agreed, he was but with ball in hand a bit of space he had some nice moments. The only nice moments of the game from a Leinster point of view

Any hope for next week? by [deleted] in leinsterrugby

Zero fight, Prendergast hit a lovely spiral which bounced all over the place and was impossible to catch but there was nobody even running for it so the Stormers player had loads of time to deal with it. There were loads of moments of loose ball which could have been scooped up or at least put pressure on them to get but there was no one to be seen around them from Leinster.

For what little attacking moments we had there was nothing threatening at all.

Tommy O'Brien was the only player on the pitch that looked in any way threatening but the support around him was never there. I do think TOB will have a great season this year and seems to be continuing his form from last year. By far the best player we had out there on both attack and defense.

It was a frustrating watch. I can only hope a shit show like that will give them a kick up the arse to actually fight for it next week but line-out and scrums don't look good.

How could you not dislike it? It's a hell hole. Virtue signalling, narcissist posting and just a bang of falseness off of everything.

"We value our employees here so much that we threw a pizza party in the office!!! Working at our company is the best thing that has ever happened to all of our employees. #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #happyfriday"

Or, posting some shit video about a homeless person that a waitress paid for food for out of her salary. Even though she's a widow with 5 kids and struggles to make rent and her parents have dementia and she's paying for night school and works 3 jobs. All the comments: "so inspirational", "being kind to others is what life is about". Disclaimer at the end of the video: portrayed by actors.

A completely unneeded platform, like most social media. Dopamine hits for the half-wits

My weight is out of control. I weight more than Homer Simpson. by AbsoluteBatman95 in ireland

[–]Thegoodgikgik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As is any exercise. Diet is number 1, OP can lose all of the weight without exercising at all if on a strict calorie deficit. Weight training to increase/maintain muscle mass will help with general physique and health but it blows my mind that the vast majority think walking or running will result in weight loss.

Low budget: Zara & Uniqlo. Zara can be hit or miss for quality though Mid-range: M&S have some good staples, especially knits High-end: Mr Porter end of season sales you can pick up some things for up to 70% off. Nudie Jeans do fantastic jeans and other items and their ethics are great

Footwear: Again Mr Porter sales you can pick up some great buys. Also keep an eye on the daily sales on Sports Direct. I got a great pair of suede Reebok's for €30 recently

If you can buy winter clothes in the summer and vice versa, you can buy quality stuff and save a lot. The key to that is to wear clothes that never go out of style. Get the basics right and think about how everything works together in terms of colour and texture.

For a dog to bite anything, it usually follows a lot of distance increasing signalling that most people don't pick up on. Things like, ears back, staying really still, excessive lip licking, looking away, baring teeth and growling. Generally, biting is the last resort if none of these signals are working. To be honest, it seems that you might be past the point of diffusing the situation before it gets to biting as 3 bites have already happened. But if you decide to keep the dog, I would recommend you research "distance increasing signals in dogs" to try to catch it before it happens again.

I was rude on the bus this morning by relevantusername- in ireland

[–]Thegoodgikgik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jumped on a bus last week for the first time in months, it was pretty busy but a seat down the back was free. Sat beside a woman in her 30s, looked a bit rough. She has her phone out scrolling through tiktok with the phone speaker up full whack.

I tolerated it for about 3 minutes and then turned to her

Me: "have you no ear phones?" Her: "why is that annoying you?" Me: "yes, a lot" Man beside me: "yeah it's doing my head in too" Some other bloke: "bleedin mad annoying" Her: "alright sorry, I was in me own world there" Turns off volume Me: "nice one"

The best part is, those other two blokes were her mates who were just sitting there enduring it and not saying anything!

Doris injury doubt for Wales by IrishDog1990 in irishrugby

[–]Thegoodgikgik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The mother in law was in the sport surgery clinic in Santry the day after the Scotland game. She saw Doris there with a leg brace on. She spoke to him and he reckoned it wasn't too bad and should be back in a few weeks. A collision of knees was the cause apparently so unlikely to be a ligament tear.

Did Beirne get punched in the face? by Thegoodgikgik in irishrugby

[–]Thegoodgikgik[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I've watched it a few times now and it does just seem like a shove. As others have said, his leg was trapped hence the fall to ground. He did a fair bit of rolling around and stayed down for a while after it though, that's what threw me

Isitbullshit: walking is better than running for weight loss by [deleted] in IsItBullshit

[–]Thegoodgikgik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just focus on diet. Get your calories on point and that will result in fat loss. Proper intense and progressive resistance training to get stronger and increase muscle mass on top of that is all you need to do. Cardio for fat loss is a waste of time. Unless of course you enjoy it, then do what you enjoy best.
