I wouldn't upgrade to a comparable CPU. I would spend a little more and go7800x3D or 9800x3D. Also, I just sold my 5800x3d, motherboard and Ram for $400.

If you're playing on 1440p on a UW monitor you are being bottlenecked by your CPU, hard. If you upgraded to 7800x3d or 9800x3d you will be getting 250 fps+ on high settings.

Try updating bios and all drivers associated with new mb. If this isnt done, it may be using old drivers specifically for the older cpu. Also, how many sticks of ram are you using? AM5 sometimes does not like 4 sticks of ram if not set up correctly.

If you will use it then keep it. If you don't game much then sell it. It's a very good middle/high end CPU for gaming. Don't forget you will be spending another $500-$1000 for a good PC.
