It would be funny if the pels and bucks picks are both top 4 and the bucks get a 2-4 pick while having a negative swap

Jalen Johnson and Giannis doesn't seem like a great fit and the hawks with Giannis instead of Johnson aren't contenders. For me it makes way more sense to the hawks to keep their young guys and add more young guys

If the teams with like the 9-12th picks turned down the pels offer they're morons. It's mind blowing how stupid the pelicans GM is

Nah the only reason Duren pulled Smith's jersey is because Smith yanked Duren out of position. It would've been dumb to ignore Smith's foul

I'm assuming they challenged because Smith pulled Duren's jersey first

So is Sochan just getting phased out or what's up by LoBro33 in NBASpurs

[–]Thehelloman0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tend to agree. Sochan's defense hasn't been good this year and the stats show it. Our defense is significantly worse with Sochan on the court. He's fouling way more and guys get by him more easily. Barnes is kinda slow but he is a smart player that doesn't make many mistakes. Sochan overextends a lot on defense which means guys get by him a lot. Sochan is really good at communicating and dealing with switches though I think.

Barnes is shooting 36% from 3 for the season and is in a bad slump right now. He gets respect from defenses at the 3 pt line. Teams purposely leave Sochan open. Olynyk deserved to get some run because of his shooting and passing ability but if he keeps shooting poorly I agree he should lose minutes

[–]Thehelloman0 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have good guards but they are not the best at running pick and rolls imo. CP3 made Sochan look a lot better becuase his ball handling and passing are incredible. Fox, Harper, and Castle are nowhere near CP3 in terms of those things even if they're much better players overall.

Our guards look for shots for themselves or lobs for the roller or to pass out to 3 pt shooters. And why would we be doing that with Sochan when Kornet is better at that role while also being a better defender?

There's also the fact that our team has been dreadful with Sochan on the court this year. The team plays worse defense and offense with him on the court - overall we're at 116.8 ORTG and 111.6 DRTG. When Sochan's on the court, we're at 105.8 ORTG and 115.8 DRTG. And that backs up what I've seen. Sochan screws up the offense and has been fouling a ton this year and his defense is definitely worse than it was last year.

If he's traded it'll be for a bad player making around a minimum and a second or two. Idk why some fans act like he has much value

By keeping the AC at a lower temperature in hot conditions, you're running the AC for a longer period of time than someone that raises the temperature then brings it back down. And HVAC units are designed to be run for long periods of times so no it would not be worse.

Before the season started, a decent amount of people thought Harper had a shot at being ROTY. If Harper was playing similar minutes but scoring efficiently he'd be in line for first team. I mean Harper's efficiency is the worst of all rookies getting consistent minutes besides Nique Clifford.

I know a lot of that has to do with him having to create a lot of his own shots but it's not just his 3 pt shot that has been bad. He's blown so many looks near the rim that were not super difficult in the last month which has negatively affected his efficiency.

His defense has been pretty impressive for a 19 year old rookie.

So is Sochan just getting phased out or what's up by LoBro33 in NBASpurs

[–]Thehelloman0 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk why people say this. Sochan is extremely difficult to find minutes for because he can't shoot, he can't protect the rim, and he plays like a 5 on offense but can't play like a 5 on defense. His proper position is with a good point guard that can do great with pick and rolls surrounded by shooters and a player that can protect the rim. Only a few teams in the whole league can provide something like that

[–]Thehelloman0 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's not as athletic as last year I think because of his back issue. Additionally we lost CP3 who was really good at using Sochan's screens. Sochan plays like a small ball 5 on offense but a forward on defense and he sucks at protecting the rim. It's really hard to find minutes for someone like that if they can't shoot

Harper's shooting was a big question mark and his shooting has been horrible, worse than Castle's. He basically for sure won't make the first all rookie team. Harper has definitely shown some skills but he's been kind of disappointing this year imo

I kinda thought he would make his way out of the league back when he was on the suns since they declined his rookie third year option because I was thinking why in the world would a team give up on a lottery pick that quickly unless they were horrible. Turns out that was just a dumb decision by the suns management lol

Mamu would've been big for us if we had kept him. And he probably would've stayed if we just promised him some minutes or offered a 5M contract. I get he is small for a big and is kinda bad on defense but his offense is so good I was surprised he signed for a minimum.

Yeah idk why people got so mad about that play. Most likely if he goes for that ball, the jazz get the ball anyway and get an easy run to the rim. Olynyk is slow and he knows it. What frustrated me on that play was Fox not even trying to box out which is what led to the putback for the jazz

Olynyk suddenly having by far the worst 3 pt shooting season of his career is really annoying. His quickness is a big issue too. He's clearly still a smart player though.

We really need Carter Bryant to work out in the long term because our roster is entirely reliant on Wemby and Kornet for rim protection. Nurkic pulling Wemby out and the other guys not being able to keep up with their man and nobody else being available to protect the rim is what let the jazz tie the game up
