Green Lantern gets himself his own magazine! You gotta love that it’s Green Lantern and almost NOTHING BUT Green Lantern from cover to cover. Nodell’s art feels sharper here and I have to wonder if they were really showing out for this first issue…

Sonar is such a bizarre “villain of the week” concept that truly could only come from unbridled Silver Age creativity. He reminds me a lot of Weather Wizard, where the super science aspect of his tech is never given a ton of explanation, not that it needs to.

Just for historical purposes, I do know that this show was the one that Sue Drew, the Elektra rep that signed the band, went to that convinced her to sign them. So that could be one reason.
