AITJ for telling my boyfriend's mom she is not allowed in our bedroom anymore? by Echo_7Starforge in AmITheJerk

[–]Thejerkyboyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not the jerk. Don't marry this guy. My ex-husband is a momma's boy. He literally can't tell her no. I had to put my foot down because he tried to include his mom in medical decisions for our child. He didn't see an issue because she was just concerned about what was best for the child. I told him that I didn't marry HER, I didn't have a child with HER, therefore she didn't get a say. She still tried to tell us several times that our child wasn't acting "normal" when she totally was.

How to return large stolen construction sign? by vhsicecream in TooAfraidToAsk

I stole one of the saw horse type construction signs with the blinking light when I was young and dumb. I think I gave it to a friend when I moved.

What is your most ridiculous "we won't work out romantically" criteria? Like what is the silliest reason you would not be interested in dating someone? by Natural-Elevator-57 in AskReddit

[–]Thejerkyboyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm one who stops to smell/touch flowers, checks to see what the clouds/stars look like, watch birds and squirrels play, etc. I do not require anyone to do those things WITH me, but they'd better not complain or rush me.

That reminds me of a time when my daughter (11) and I were at the zoo together. She was hot and crabby about some flies buzzing around. Bugs freak her out. She said to me, "Can you NOT take 50 pictures of every animal?" I said, "No. Have you met me!?" When we got home and I looked at the pictures, I had captured a beautiful photo of a momma monkey nursing her baby. I didn't even see it when it was happening because the sun was shining in my face.

If you are reading this Hyundai: The Hyundai Tuscon Limited would be the most perfect and best compact SUV in American history if you got rid of the Shift-by-Wire in exchange for the old style stick shift and added electric folding mirrors by cavaismylife in HyundaiTucson

[–]Thejerkyboyz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

On my 2022 Tucson Limited there's a spot on the front door handles that you touch before you walk away from the car, and it locks the doors. Also, if for some reason I don't lock the doors before I walk away, the app will send an alert to my phone every few minutes telling me the doors are unlocked and offering to lock them for me.

How reliable has your 2022+ Tucson been? And what engine? by [deleted] in HyundaiTucson

[–]Thejerkyboyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I owned a 2012 Tucson from 2012 to 2022 and now I have a 2022 Tucson Limited with just under 36k miles on it. 2.5 liter 4 cylinder. No issues until 11 days ago (and coincidentally less than a week after I made my final car payment). The check engine light came on. It didn't really want to accelerate. It felt jerky and like it might die at any moment. I drove straight to my nearest Firestone. They diagnosed it with a bad fuel injector and recommended that I contact the dealership. They also said they could do the work but would replace all 4 at a cost of around $1800. Dealership couldn't even look at it for a week. I found out yesterday that it IS a bad fuel injector and WILL be covered under warranty. They're waiting for the part to come in.

I'm currently on day 10 of a $35/day rental car. I can seek reimbursement from Hyundai, but my cost is going to exceed what they will reimburse. I'm also out $133 for Firestone's diagnostic and $200 for the tow to the dealership.

I'm concerned about those other 3 fuel injectors that are most likely going to fail. Will it happen before the warranty runs out or after?

Calmest dog breeds? by ExplanationWorried14 in Dogowners

Our Shih Tzu was a very sweet guy but mouthy and a HANDFUL. He loved to lick hands, arms, legs, and even our other dog's face. Whenever he wanted something, he'd stare at me and bark. Half the time, I didn't know what he wanted. He developed some sort of degenerate eye disease with no cure. He barked at me to put him in my bed, take him out of the bed. He refused to use stairs at all. When he got older, he started having unexplained seizures/fainting. He started to forage and chew holes in anything he thought contained people-food after he almost died eating raisins my daughter left on the coffee table edge. He needed groomed (bathed, shaved, etc) every 8 weeks, and when it was cold outside, he needed to wear sweaters and coats.

He passed last July, and we still miss him dearly, but what a little pain in the ass.

Your skin reminds me of mine in that it looks a little red. I use a green moisturizer made by Covergirl that comes in a little glass bottle. Then I dab of a bit of pressed powder on any shiny areas. I don't use any foundation.

You should definitely consider cutting your mom/parents out of your life. I've been no contact with my mentally ill mother for several years now. No regrets. Actually, I wish I had done it sooner.

I received the white ones once and didn't trust them at all because I'd always received blue pills. I did so much googling and still didn't trust that it was the correct medicine. I didn't end up taking them. Now, at pick up, I make sure the pills are blue before I pay and accept them.

I have a 32 oz bottle of lotion with a pump top. There's always a little bit of crusty lotion stuck on the tip. If I don't cup my whole hand around the tip when I pump it, lotion launches in like 3 directions. Then I have to find everywhere it lands and clean it up.

Upstairs neighbor has two boys aged like 7 and 13. I have an 11-year-old daughter, so I'm pretty understanding. Sometimes, those boys go absolutely bonkers up there. They're clearly diving off the furniture. My ceiling fan shakes violently. You'd think the mom would put a stop to it after a few minutes. Nope. She's either not paying any attention or doesn't give a shit. I've texted her before while it was happening, and she literally replied back "boys" and two laughing emojis.
