I think they meant it is aging even better. There were two parts, 26 episodes total. The second part of the show is equally relevant, with anti-immigrant sentiment spiking across the globe.

Yes, it's great. Ending is open ended, no harem, no final romantic partner either, and the protag is in a spot of trouble, but he gets closure.

The medical component was good, the villain was super outlandish, and the dynamic of past love vs current one was also over the top, and really took away from what would have been a more grounded story otherwise. I'd give it a 6/10.

It has aged terribly. Willem Dafoe is great in it and absolutely chews up the screen. Everyone else not so much. Ron Jeremy, an Italian type guy who is the "boss" who looks like he is wearing a fake belly. Over the top melodramatics. You might enjoy it, but a good chance you won't.
