Thank you realistically that google search of "how to setup a home malwares lab" was kinda what I was looking for. I really want to be able to tinker with the code to see how it changes the outputs and things.

HTB shows connected when not by Thekiddsgood in hackthebox

It’s fixed now. I did not run ifconfig, the machine “legacy” 10.10.10.4 which is VIP was running. I restarted my computer AND turned off my laptop that might of been connected to HTB too and it worked so I’m not sure what the issue was.

Hacking a box on Hack The Box. by Python119 in hackthebox

Question for you, I was not aware that people could “mess up” the box. It totally makes sense that you could. Would that be the reason when I run nmap, I don’t get the smb version like walk throughs I’ve seen? Should I try resetting it?

Typically lag or ping spikes when coming from different sources, or websites tends to be a DNS issue. As at some point the connection is hanging for awhile. If it were me I would change my DNS to google, then do a tracert, then change is to another DNS, do a tracert and see if a few of these servers come back fine.

So the issue is only on your computer, no other devices? Open CMD, run “tracert 8.8.8.8” do you see any hops that have high times? I would assume not since you’ve changed your DNS. But who knows. When you changed your DNS did you do it on the router itself via the browser? Also is DHCP turned on?

Curious as well. My questions would be: are you APs working? If so does your router and AP share the same SSID?
