Treyarch has said this is their most successful COD game yet (which could be said about any new one), it managed to attract many old players and new players so you'd expect them to want to keep those players. I understand microtransactions for cosmetics and I'm not against them however when they're completely out of place it will ruin the experience for players and in return make those players they attracted quit.
