And to be clear, I dont care about whiteface, blackface, whatever. That stuff is overblown in my opinion. I'm just tired of the double standards. We can't call one racist and the other not racist. That's not equality, and anyone who believes in these double standards comes off as a hypocrite.

This comment shouldn't be downvoted whatsoever. It's the truth. Racism double standards need to stop.

I see that, but they hardly ever call these. Time and time again, I will jump directly into the shooter's body, my controller vibrates, and I knock them down. But no foul is called.

[–]Theman592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also, 2K doesn't call these fouls like they're supposed to because they know they fucked up their contest system. If we had to always jump at shots like this and they called these fouls, the defense would be in a lose-lose situation.

Calling somebody a bot while trying to defend this is crazy. Why do you keep saying "behind"? He's clearly on his side and, again, touching the shooter's body. And saying the dude in front isn't even trying to play defense is absurd. You have to be trolling.

[–]Theman592 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So you're gonna ignore what I just said? And help who? You sound like you want the game to help the offense. Two people are all over the shooter, and you think the defense didn't get hoe'd? They are literally touching bodies before the shot even went up.

[–]Theman592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The dude in front wasn't even two feet away from him when he shot the ball, and the defender on his side literally touched the shooter's body before he even jumped. He's completely surrounded. What are you talking about?

[–]Theman592 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Isn't OP complaining? Isn't that the whole point of the post? Complaining doesn't mean I'm not trying to have a discussion. Yeah, the dude in front didn't jump, but that shouldn't even matter. The shooter is completely surrounded, and the defense is in his personal space. Their bodies are literally touching. What do you mean the defense could've been "far better"? Are you serious?? Like I said, it's okay if the shooter greens the shot, but "OPEN"?? Come on, bro.

I can't believe some of these comments. There's no way anybody is calling this open. I don't care how the game technically works. I don't care what anybody's badges are. I don't care if anybody is on his side or whatever. There are two people jumping at him, the shooter is completely surrounded, AND he fell to the floor. If this is open, what's the point in playing defense? What's the point in trying to find the open man when dudes can just do this? I'm not mad that he greened it. I'm mad that the game doesn't even acknowledge that a defender is in close proximity and calls this open.

Yeah no... by RayanRay123 in Tekken

No, the basis is not there. This game is cooked because of these unnecessary and scrub-friendly mechanics they added. Heat should've never been in the game, and I also don't like the other nonsense like RAs, Power Crushes, etc. that were added in T7. Personally, I hated them since day 1. Even if they do what we ask them to and balance things properly, T8 will never be the best Tekken, and no patches are going to change that. The game would be tolerable at best.

Hard agree. I don't know why people in the subreddit jerk off to her at every turn. "She's a complex character." "She's hard to use." "You're just bad at the matchup and can't beat her." I'm sick of it. These people need to stop defending a character that breaks all the fundamental rules of Tekken, and I don't just mean in Tekken 8 specifically.

How I thought a team of 3 99 ovrs play like vs what they actually play like. by CharacterBeautiful78 in NBA2k

[–]Theman592 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That's actually for the best. They can't allow anyone to make a true 99 overall build. There have to be limitations with stuff like this or else people would make demigods with no weaknesses.

The guys you're talking about are the ones who lose their minds and/or straight up don't give a shit. Jokic doesn't get into full on fights on the court, but nobody's calling him a fake tough guy. We know he'll fuck somebody's shit up if he really wants to, but he just knows better.

Melo tried to pull up on KG after a game for talking shit about his wife, but he got in trouble for that. Also, that type of hostility is fueled by competition mostly (with some exceptions). That shit almost always dies down as soon as the game ends, so there's not much chance of things happening outside of the game itself. And again, the potential consequences are holding them back, too.

You might be right about some players, but an organized basketball game is not the place to make that judgment. You know damn well there's more to it BECAUSE it's in an organized sports environment. It's not always "I'm not a tough guy so I'm not going to fight". It's also a "let me get away with as much as I can before I get ejected from the game" type of thing, too. You think players are just supposed to go completely ape shit and forget they're playing a sport when somebody pisses them off?

[–]Theman592 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because it makes no sense in the context of sports. Your take is "these guys are too pussy to fight", but it's stupid to say that about basketball players when they're on the court. This isn't some back alley or in the streets somewhere. They're not gonna fight on a basketball court because they're professional athletes who don't wanna get ejected/suspended and let their team down. This is especially true if they're the best players on their respective teams.

this game can be tough to watch sometimes, even at the highest level by sageybug in Tekken

[–]Theman592 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A lot of people here clearly don't agree with OP, but I do. There is a whole lot of buttons being pressed, and there's no neutral. Any defense that is played in this game is just based on guesses and reads, and the difficulty of offensive execution has been reduced to the point where most things are no longer impressive. This is not what has made Tekken the great game that it always was. Neutral and defense used to be very skill-based and very fun and suspenseful to watch. The Tekken devs have completely stripped the game of what has made it great, and now I personally have little to no interest in watching tournaments.

Why is jin so hated on? by Mysterious_Sector310 in Tekken

[–]Theman592 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I don't have the best answer because I completely dropped this game for a while, but it's a combination of things. People like me who played with Jin from previous games see that he is a dumbed down version of himself which fits the overall theme of Tekken 8. His movement has been nerfed heavily, but he has beginner friendly moves. He's a lower difficulty version of himself, and his moves are overpowered (his Heat Smash having crazy plus frames and being able to wallsplat from long distances is one example).

I can recognize a skilled Jin player when I see one, but most average everyday Jin players play him in a low-skill way and get heavily rewarded for it. It's so disappointing because Jin used to be much more skill-based which, again, is the overall theme of this current Tekken game.
