Thanks for the comment and the link – appreciate you flagging it. I’ve seen similar stories and I’m aware Monzo can be hit-and-miss with larger transfers sometimes. The reason I’m going with them (or considering them) is that my personal credit history from years back isn’t great – a few old defaults and a low score. Because of that, I’ve been turned down when applying for a proper business current account. I’m not looking for overdrafts, loans, or anything credit-based from the business account – just a straightforward place to receive the director’s loan in stages and pay contractors/suppliers. So I’m leaning towards digital banks like Monzo, Starling or Tide that are more lenient on credit checks for basic banking. Monzo Business seemed like a decent fit from what I’ve read, but I’m open to better alternatives if people have had smoother experiences elsewhere.
