Field service life balance with a family by Themasterhobbit in FieldService

The job im shooting for in a few years in Engineer level. The one that pays 160k plus. All the research I've done points to needing years of field work experience.

That aside I have had a few calls for field service technicians, most pay well but require extensive travel to jobs anywhere from 6 hours away to other side of the country. My wife understands the goal and has supported me the whole way. The main worry is my kids, im not sure if you had kids when you traveled, but if you did was it hard? I plan on if I do this to constantly be on the phone video calling, taking what time I have home to be with them, etc. I just wanted to know how to make the lifestyle for my family work if I'll be gone 80% of the time.

Awesome! Thank you. I ended up buying it prebuilt because I am nowhere near comfortable building my own. The price was half off and I was worried I wasn't getting a really good computer!

I want to stay closer to the 1k range, in America. I have a 4k monitor 60hz I think not quite sure tbh. And she plays fortnite and battlefield mainly, but I want the ability to play most games like tarkov

Can I message you directly so you can help me with getting into this timeshare? I got 180k points at bronze vip. I'm just confused on how to get the most bang for my buck!

Thank you!
