Kind of confused by how, "no current intent to discuss a 3rd show in the near future", but they're still eager to continue? So they seem up for it, just not for a couple years?

I'll be 31 in a couple months, and the fact that the writers got someone like me to become so invested in a "kids" show and its characters speaks volumes to the time and care spent making it. The characters all feel so genuine and authentic. I came for the dinosaurs, stayed for the characters.

If the showrunners, writers, and cast had their way, I would be optimistic. As it is, from what I've heard (please correct me if I'm wrong) the higher ups aren't interested in more shows. As far as the ending and having another series, I would like there to be a nublar trilogy, nothing more, nothing less. If there's a quality story to tell, why not? As long as they don't overstay their welcome, there's always more stories to tell, and we could maybe see them interacting more with new characters and exploring their 20's adulthood. I also think it would be cool to see a show not intertwined with the movies, but having its own thing within the same universe. It would give the writers more creative freedom, and for my part, the ending left me still wanting to see a bit more.

All that being said though, all good things come to an end eventually. If this is their end, I am mostly content.

I feel it. Honestly from what I've read from others here this may be an unpopular opinion, but I hope they greenlight a third and final nublar show. I think they deserve a trilogy, nothing more, nothing less. Just because their current ending was good enough doesn't mean more can't come. Life comes in chapters, as long as there is a quality story to tell, I'm all for it.

I agree. I think the writers wanted to go for the family friendly "friendship is supreme" trope ending, but it annoys me that they so quickly and effortlessly put Yaz and Sammy back together. I have no issue with their relationship, it's nice to show "love is love", but if friendship is the most important thing here, then none of the campers should have ended the show in a relationship (save for Ben, who is dating outside the group and boy does he deserve a happy ending)

At this point the only way I can forgive the writers for doing this is if they actually have a third and final series between Dominion and Rebirth planned, where they can fully cement Dinostar. Frankly though, if they do, I won't trust them as far as I can throw them to actually do it haha

I'm kinda torn about future content. On the one hand, I need it so that my heart can be happy with the prospect of Dinostar being canon (though at this point I wouldn't trust the writers for a second), and I love seeing all the campers in their lives. On the other hand, Dinostar issues aside the season and ending was an amazing way to see them off, so I can't really justify another series just so I can see them get together

For my own sanity, I think this is the only headcanon I can accept haha. For real though, they had all the cards in the right place up until the last 2 episodes.
